Gospel of Judas and other 'trends'

In reading (and listening) to Protestant (bible only) Christians, I’m amazed by their lack of knowledge in Church history. They were shocked to learn about there are “other” books that were written by earlier Christians, and about the early heresies (namely, Gnosticism). It just affirms my view that the Catholic Church is missing a great opportunity to evangelize and teach people the truth regarding WHO created their inerrant scriptures and **WHO **protected early orthodox (small O) Christianity from the many heresies through the early centuries.

It’s time to reveal to other Christians (particularly Protestants) of the Church’s truths, and who has been the sole provider AND PROTECTOR of the Christian Faith!!

As a former protestant I can tell you that it wont be easy to evangilize them. Here is what I used to see given what I was taught.

Catholic = Idolatry
Catholic = Cult
Catholic = Decieved
Catholic = Arrogant
Catholic = Danger

Telling prots that the Catholics compiled the bible will only make them say “Yeah too bad they don’t do what it says, we need faith not legalism”. I think the best way to turn prots is to teach them the validity of the Eucharist and explain how God literally resides in the new and everlasting covenant. Show them that Christ is the center of the Church, not human writings outlining his life and words to us. The real problem out there is that people believe they will disobey God if they become Catholic and that they will be commiting Idolatry. The devil does his work well.
