Please help me answer this fill in the blank question

What are the purposes of 4 Gospels: Mathew, Mark, Luke and John?
  1. It demonstrates how to be a disciple of Jesus.
  2. To emphasize Jesus as a Servant.
  3. Presents Jesus as the Son of God
  4. It shows how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament as the Messiah.

Hmmm, looks too much like homework to me.

But let’s examine the answers.

Look carefully and ignore the bad grammar.

The 4 gospels (plural, so instead of ‘it demonstrates’ should be ‘they demonstrate’. . .how to be a disciple. Do they indeed show that?

Do the gospels emphasize Jesus as servant? What kind? Are there any other attributes?

Do the gospels present Jesus as Son of God? To the extent of any other presentations such as Son of Man?

Do the Gospels show how Jesus fulfills the OT as Messiah? What exactly were the OT Messiah requirements? Do the Jews appear to expect a Messiah like Jesus?

Now of all the above, examine the gospels and see which question most completely answers the question of the purpose of the Good News about Jesus.
 
Is this literally a homework question from some kind of external source?

@Normallady, it might help if you explained exactly what your purpose of asking this question here is.

Because honestly myself, the question seems weird. For example, you say it’s a “fill in the blank” question but it isn’t: it’s multiple choice. And then the question asks about 4 different gospels, and uses the plural to suggest there may be multiple answers, but the multiple choice format suggests there will be only one answer. And then the only 4 possible answers given are very limited and fractured answers, and surely not even one of them is a ‘complete’ answer to the question.

Like… what’s up? Is this a question you’re personally asking? Or is this a question someone else asked you, and you’re copy/pasting it and asking how you should answer the other person?

yes, it is from my child’s homework.
She asked for my help but I am not sure about the answers myself and I dont want to give her the wrong answers.

I searched and some sources said : Mark’s purpose is talking about Jesus as a servant

It’s from my child’s homework and she asked for help but I am not sure my answers are the right ones. So I asked for help.

Each Gospel has an author and an audience that the Gospel is intended for, so each Gospel will have it’s own context.
The emphasis of numbers 1 and 2 are not as clear, but 3 and 4 are clearly John and Matthew.

Yes, you are right. The numbers 1 and 2 are not clear.
That’s why I am not sure about my answers.
 
Nailed it!

At first, I thought it was asking which one of those encompasses all four gospels and I was lost how to pick one! Matching the gospel to the statement must be what was being asked and I agree with your placements.
