Graphic Abortion Video

I think Graphic abortion images are as powerful a tool as the images of the prisioners in nazi death camps are powerful, however…


  1. *]They teeter on denying the dignity the child being aborted by making it into a faceless political object, rather than a human being.
    *]When paraded in public, they make us look like fanatics and immediately shut people off to our message

    The video certainly demonstrates the savage brutality of abortion, however, I object to the images of the child’s arms and legs strategically positioned on a quarter or a dollar bill. In doing this, the film maker objectifies the child in the same way that its mother did. That was disgusting
 
I think placing the limbs on a quarter is to provide scale, showing they are definitely formed human limbs, despite the size.

Otherwise, some detractors might claim they are from a late-term abortion.
 
I watched the video and yes it is powerful. The money gives reality not only to the scale of these young children murdered at the very dawn of thier lives but also speaks to what we do for gain, The question is this is the price of murder which one is more important the life of that murdered child or the money paid to the “hit man”.
 
Graphic videos should never be the answer. Love and compassion should be the answer. Staying true to our faith and our Lord Jesus by showing his love and compassion through us should be the only way. As Catholics we should strive to show our love, a smile, a hug, and compassion. These women are extremly conflicted and lost souls. It seems like so much the focus is on the baby, that its a life, killing life is wrong, yada, yada, yada, but if redirect our attention/campaign to the woman and saving her life, how and why, it is more appealing to the woman because she is too focused on herself and the mess she is in. She doesn’t care about the baby, that is why she is having the abortion. These women are vulnerable and desperate. We need to spread the message that we are on a mission to save the woman’s soul. PRO-CHOICE? Absolutely!

“They say you have the choice. Yes you do. Would you like to be saved through Jesus or not? Hasn’t enough blood been shed?” Then the arguement is mute becuase we are saving the woman 🙂
 
I absolutely agree. We should be reaching out to mothers with love, compassion, and respect, so that they in turn can offer the same to their babies.

Both the woman and the baby need help and protection, especially teenage girls who don’t know any better or are being manipulated and exploited. If videos help stop abortion and convince people to be pro-life, then great. But other methods should not be forgotten about either, like prayer or just trying to talk to the woman.

I disagree with the idea that each is mutually exclusive of the other. I believe there is a right way and right time and place for use of these images. That is not to say I think they should be boldly jammed in the face of women determined or considering abortion, in a confrontational, prideful way.

It might interest you to know that virtually right next door to the late Dr. Tiller’s famous abortion clinic was a Crisis Pregnancy Center (CPC) that offered both compassion and graphic images. What they did is offer these things: an ultrasound picture of the baby, a suction machine and all the various instruments used for abortion that women could view or examine, and a graphic video that showed actual abortions and the resultant tissues. Each woman was offered any, all, or none, it was up to them. In years of operation, they only had one client who signed the release, viewed the video, and felt wronged by the process. One, out of thousands of woman.

Interestingly enough, this clinic noted that sometimes women would go with a friend, and that while the main client would refuse to view materials, the friend who came with her did want to view them. They documented many instances where, after viewing the various materials, some would ask if they could come back later and bring others with them to see what they had available. Through use of an exit survey, they found over 99% of women who came to that CPC felt that they were treated with compassion, that they felt they could trust the staff members, and that they would recommend it to a friend.

Also consider that many people today are visual learners. You might try to engage them in a conversation about the realities of abortion, but you are competing against a world view that - using images - tells them and reminds them “it’s perfectly okay.” So the battle will be greatly uphill.

Another consideration is, are the images true? Do those pictures and videos show reality, show truth, or not? It seems to me a bit fallacious to place so much concern on being compassionate over the possible offense of an image that we end up having a woman feel she was treated with great compassion, but then kills her baby.

So I think an informed, appropriate use of images is a good thing and it can be done in a non-threatening, compassionate way. These images are powerful, and teach a truth to some people who otherwise would not know that truth because they only want to skirt the edges of it, but never deal uncomfortably with it. Sometimes it just takes showing the truth to get the point across. You might recall the incident surrounding the death of Emmitt Till back in 1954 that energized the civil rights movement in America. Till was a 14 year old boy from Chicago visiting relatives in Mississippi, and was kidnapped and murdered for speaking to, come say whistling at, a white woman in a store. He was brutally murdered leaving his body a total mess, unsuitable for services with an open casket. His mother insisted it be opened anyway so that “the whole world can see what they did to my son.” Jet magazine published the photo of Till’s body in the open casket and the revulsion of it jolted America into facing the truth of what was really going on.

I am amazed at how easily the cloven hoofed one can lead the vulnerable sheep astray. With a yada yada yada innocent lives are swept aside to comfort the Mother. How easy it is to make you Pro Choice, all it takes is a glib tongue. Never mind that it may be forked. Of course the poster would try to influence you to not show pictures of the truth. The Truth is anathema in the PRO-CHOICE WORLD. I know the darkness it has been spawned from, and do congratulate them for a valiant try.However we simply must follow Our Lord and not ever allow ourselves to to be influenced by Satan or his Pro Choice instruments
 
I think graphic videos and images serve a very powerful purpose, but like any tool, only when used in the right context.

For example, once I had decided to become prolife, I was very lukewarm. When I was linked to one of these videos, I was so nauseated by it I couldn’t eat for 2 days. No, I am NOT kidding. It also gave me a violent shove to show me how imporatnt rallying for the unborn really was.

However, putting these images on trucks and posters and parading them in front of unwilling people serves a very negative purpose. It turns people off, and unfuriates those who don’t want to see those images. You have to melt the ice, before you can really show them the truth.

I do hope someday that the abortion issue will be dealt with the same in history books as the holocaust is. But until it is, we have to work through a different medium.
 
I am so thankful that women are not forced to see graphic videos. It is just NOT the answer.
 
The videos and images are testimonies to the abortions. Pro-abortionist ask for evidence that abortion is murder. Nothing is more clear than the videos and photos. Yes, it’s graphic, but in a courtroom graphic images of murder are shown as evidence because the jury must convict without a shadow of a doubt. Some people have to see to believe.

I completely agree with you. Graphic abortion media should not be displayed in public- it should only be used in appropriate, private arenas.

Like you, I feel so much more fervent in the pro-life cause after seeing videos like this.

When I first saw a diagram of a partial-birth abortion, that was the first time in my life that I literally could not believe what I was seeing. I just didn’t know how to react to something so horrific and real. The true horror of abortion needs to be known from graphic media like this, but it should NOT be paraded in public.
