Brian Fies, the author of Mom’s Cancer and Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow, lost his house last year to the California firestorm. (Amazingly, California is still burning this year, this month, this day.)
As a graphic novelist, he sketched his harrowing encounter the day after. It quickly was picked up as an animated short on PBS. Soon to be published in book form (ordering information here.)
Prayers for those who lost their homes to the fires would be appreciated.
What other times have you found a writer’s work to be helpful after a crisis or problem or time of need?
