Is there an official list of sins which are grave enough to constitute mortal sin?

I very much want to eliminate mortal sin from my life.

I recommend reading the portion of the Catechism of the Catholic Church covering the 10 Commandments. It is a good starting point that gives you lots of specific direction and also food for thought!

I found a book by a Jewish lady on the ten commandments to be one of the better books on this subject that I have read. She pulls few punches and calls a spade a spade.Laura Schlessinger, The Ten Commandments:The Significance of God’s Laws in Every Day Life. Of course she would not cover stuff like obligation to attend Mass on Sunday and such, but I think she points out a lot of lapses that a lot of us are ignorant of or just shrug off. Otherwise check out ignatius press.com for this subject. They carry reliable books for Catholics.l

Check this webpage:

saintaquinas.com/mortal_sin.html

If you scroll down a little it gives what it claims is a thorough list and description of grave matter beased on the 10 Commandments, most with Scripture and/or CCC references… (Found it by Googling "grave matter and mortal sin)

In Christ’s peace and joy,
