Dear friends,

There is a sin I committed which I believe had permanent consequences for my life. Now I am struggling against temptation to hate my life as it is now. The attacks on me are cruel.

Please pray for me. I have been unable to work, and I need to be strong for my family.

Thank you for all your help.

– Ben

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Ben Shipman in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need.

Praying you can find solace and a path to redemption. Remember, God still loves you!

Don’t give up, no matter what. There is no sin that God will not forgive… You may be embarrassed by what you did and people may be gossiping but they also said bad things about Jesus. Please try to forgive them their gossiping about something you might have done. Offer it up. Apologize and pray. God will make it turn out for the good and you will be stronger for it. Praying for you. And your family.

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

I’m in a similar situation

My realization that Porn was a Mortal Sin after I had already become addicted sparked a depression in me
Add that to normal teenage anxieties and I was a mess
I used to hate life

I’m doing better in regards to the depression

But I’m still heavily addicted and afraid to ask my parents to go to confession

All I can say is to hold in there
Find prayers that suit you (I really recommend the Shoulder Wound of Jesus daily meditation)

My life just got better out of nowhere one day
And while I still struggle I’m learning my lessons

Ben,

I pray for you in your hardship and suffering. Just remember that the Lord gave His life so that you could live, and if you unite your suffering with Calvary, the Good Lord will help you in your struggle.

Pax vobiscum.

Praying for you, Ben. You only said consequences(broad term), so I’m assuming you aren’t despairing of salvation. Even Judas could have been saved, from what I’ve always been taught; his unpardonable sin was that he didn’t believe he could be saved or ask for forgiveness, again according to what I’ve been taught and read. I could be wrong on that one, but it’s immaterial.

As for consequences, yes, sometimes our sins result in earthly consequences, I’m struggling with some of those myself, and those can be daunting. It’s kind of like a ubiquitous reminder of what we’ve done. True, God lets us suffer our consequences, but I believe that he gives us the grace to persevere and grow from them.

If your present state is a result of sins you’ve committed, then I’m not sure it is even sinful to hate it. God hates sin, right? I know it the first and second word of the preceding sentence sound sacrilegious when used together, but since he loves us and because of sin’s effect on us(and because of WHO sin comes from)…

The part about not being able to work and being strong for your family got to me because I’m a father myself. ewtn.com/devotionals/novena/joseph.htm Right now, I’m on the sixth day of a novena to St. Joseph. Scroll down to day 6 and day 7, but it may also help you to start the novena yourself. Maybe it’s coincidence that I should read your post today and cover two of your intentions today and tomorrow. I doubt it. You will definitely be in my heart today and tomorrow when I make these novena prayers, sir. 🙂

Keep returning to God. Keep you eyes focused on Heaven, our ultimate goal. God Bless you!

St. John Vianni, St. John Bosco, St. Benedict, St. Augustine, St. Leo, pray for us. Amen.

Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful-
Mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us-
Give your aid to all needing help or healing-
Assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering-
Be with those needing peace-
Console the lonely or brokenhearted-
Comfort the lost or hopeless-
Strengthen the fearful-
Guard the unborn-
Pray for those who are dying or who have died-
Soften those with hardened hearts-
Enlighten those who do not yet see truth-
Help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go-
Show us the way to do the right thing-
Protect those who are in danger, and
Guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen
