Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know about some new podcasts the Catholic Culture website (not to be confused with the also excellent Institute of Catholic Culture) launched in October '19, which will help people to learn about the Church Fathers.
The first is Catholic Culture Audiobooks. These are free, high quality audiobooks of works by the Church Fathers, St. John Henry Newman and more. So you’re hearing the Fathers, in their own words, read by a professional voice actor. He has recorded most of the first generation of Church Fathers and is now branching out into figures like St. Augustine. This is an incredible resource for people who want to learn about the Fathers but don’t have enough time to sit down and read–listen to St. Athanasius and St. Augustine and St. Newman on your commute! (We also plan to do a small selection of papal encyclicals.)
The second is Way of the Fathers with Mike Aquilina. You may know Mike as a popular writer on the Fathers and early Christianity–we commissioned him to write and host a scripted history podcast about Church Fathers. Mike is incredibly engaging and great at packing a lot of information into a short time. I believe this show deserves to stand alongside any of the popular ancient history podcasts you can find out there–but it has a Catholic perspective and topic.
In addition to producing those two recently-launched shows, I myself host The Catholic Culture Podcast, an interview show with a broad range of Catholic topics, esp. arts and culture.
You can find all of these shows at our website or in your favored podcast app. I hope they will help you grow in your faith!
God bless you,
Thomas V. Mirus
