The various Orthodox Churches are all resolutely and emphatically pro-life, and Priests for Life has always been very grateful for the entheusiastic participation of the various Orthodox jurisdictions in the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.

Metropolitan Herman, Orthodox Church in America, to Lead Orthodox Marchers at Annual Right to Life Rally
WASHINGTON, DC [OCA Communications] – His Beatitude, Metropolitan Herman, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America and well-known spokesman for the sanctity of life, will once again join hundreds of Orthodox Christians at the annual March for Life here Monday, January 24, 2005.
On the eve of the march, Metropolitan Herman will celebrate Vespers and a Service of Intercession at the OCA’s Saint Nicholas Cathedral at 8:00 p.m. Orthodox Christian pro-lifers from across the nation are expected to be on hand for the two day gathering.
“Every year, the March is held to lament the US Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision of January 22, 1973 that legalized abortion on demand in the US,” according to the Very Rev. John Matusiak, OCA communications director.
“Metropolitan Herman has been a visible and vocal presence at the annual gathering for nearly two decades, leading hundreds of Orthodox Christians in prayerful witness to the sanctity of human life from its conception.”
Metropolitan Herman is also expected to address the hundreds of thousands of marchers at the Elipse before they make their way down Constitution Avenue to the US Supreme Court building.
