I’ve heard Gregorian chants a couple of times on songs on the radio and they seem to sound right to the core of your soul. I am wondering if they are held at Tridentine-style masses?
Indeed. (As a matter of fact I sing in a schola at a “Tridentine” parish.) I sometimes post different chants up on my blog (mortuummundo.blogspot.com/) and I also have every chant for the liturgical year (both propers and ordinaries) recorded from the Bellarmina Schola (on CD, my computer, my ipod, etc.)I’ve heard Gregorian chants a couple of times on songs on the radio and they seem to sound right to the core of your soul. Actually, it means, “Ye MEN of Galilee…”“Ye people of Galilee, why are you gazing in astonishment at the sky? Alleluia. Just as you have seen him ascend into heaven, so, in like manner, shall he return, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. All nations, clap your hands; shout unto God with a voice of joy.”
You bet they are. At least at one parish I went to. I could not believe how beautiful it truly was to hear it live, and not on a recording.I’ve heard Gregorian chants a couple of times on songs on the radio and they seem to sound right to the core of your soul. Looking for it now, I hope I still have it bookmarked on a midi file!I do like some chant, but my real love is the sort of stuff I heard today - some Mass whose name escapes me by Mozart. The Agnus Dei was just sublime!
Thank you paramedicgirl! Here are some free Gregorian chant MP3 downloads. They are very beautiful.
I downloaded all of those to my computer. It took awhile, and I still don’t have them on CD yet.Thank you paramedicgirl!
Can you burn them on to CD? I dont know how to do anything technical, but I was wondering?I downloaded all of those to my computer. It took awhile, and I still don’t have them on CD yet.
Yes, just download them to your computer, then use media player or whatever you use to create a CD. It’s easiest if you get someone else to do it for you.Can you burn them on to CD? I dont know how to do anything technical, but I was wondering?
LOL. I am the only one who can do it. But, my toddler is getting pretty good. Its scary.Yes, just download them to your computer, then use media player or whatever you use to create a CD. It’s easiest if you get someone else to do it for you.
Wow! I used to sing the Kyrie of the Missa de Angelis all the time as a kid - in Croatian, mind you, not Greek Takes me back 20 years to hear it again. Here are some free Gregorian chant MP3 downloads. They are very beautiful.

I think this chant will be a wonderful way for my family to wake up today.
Did I say today? Yes, its already today here.
But, I played lots of good Catholic music while my child was in the womb too this day I still like to instill that in the blood.
I dont think it can hurt.
