Group offers free abortions for hurricane survivors

After 9/11 we were appalled that Planned Parenthood offered a blue light special –free abortion to any woman who lost a husband or partner.

Now it is happening in Atlanta to the Katrina evacuees.

From National Abortion Federation (NAF) website

Atlanta Women’s Medical Center, Atlanta, GA is offering free abortion and gyn care to Katrina evacuees on a case-by-case basis – contact Golda 800-877-6332. Procedures through 24 weeks, pregnancy testing, and emergency contraception.

“The nation is watching as the victims of Katrina continue to experience sadness, discouragement, despondency and displacement,” said Judie Brown, American Life League. “It boggles my mind to consider the possibility that anyone would want to compound the horror by advocating the death of a family member. Too many families have already lost children as a result of the storm. Why does the abortion industry seem so willing — and eager — to increase the already horrific death count?”

There is a genuine need for assistance for pro-life pregnancy counseling in the hurricane-ravaged areas of the Gulf Coast, not for abortion. The centers that provide this counseling are the ones who could really use help. We have heard from several that have lost their entire operations as a result of Katrina.

I think it is sick that these organization want to further their murder agenda through Katrina. To me, they are terrorists and should be treated that way.

There is so much death and saddness there. WHY, Why are these “people” down there??? :hmmm: I guess they don’t seem to realize a new life, and the meaning behind it that life goes on.

To take advantage of frightened people to make a quick dollar.
 
I suppose the NAF is promoting their free or discount abortions to take advantage of the uncertainty and worries of evacuees from the Hurrican Katrina area. Perhaps these evacuees are afraid to bring a child into the world in the face of so much instability and uncertainty.

It seems to me that the answer is to provide stability and reassurance to the evacuees. Unfortunately, our country got off to a very bad start in dealing with the chaos caused by the storm.

Bringing them into a social safety of supportive people is perhaps something that could be done by local churches. But the real problem is guaranteeing long term housing and employment etc to the evacuees. I think government comes into the mix here… but I don’t know if we as a country have the political will to help.

Because we all know that what will make the people who lost everything feel better is to kill their unborn babies now, too! As if they haven’t had enough loss and pain and grief to deal with. And right now is the perfect time for them to make well-informed, level headed decisions, too…Why would anyone do this? Just why?
