I truly do not understand this. How do abortion and birth control pills equate with reproductive HEALTH? Since when is pregnancy a disease? I might buy an argument that condoms can protect reproductive health (by avoiding STD’s) but I cannot fathom how abortion and BC pills fit the bill. Can anyone explain this to me?

It seems to me that with EVERY abortion the “reproduction” part is already done. But then the word “abortion” is anathema to those who promote it.

My doctor recently asked me if I’m “at risk” for pregnancy. It’s a crazy world we live in.

The good news is that since I’m not using artificial contraceptives, I am indeed “at risk” for pregnancy.

This is part of the propaganda associated with the culture of death. “Pro Choice” and “women’s reproductive health” sound better than terminology such as “slaughter of the pre-born”.

I wrote a research paper last semester on Catholic Charities of Sacramento being forced to offer BC coverage i ntheir health plan. I refused to use the term “reproductive” health or services. Instead I wrote “anti-reproductive” services whenever the phrase was needed. I am pretty sure my teacher was pro-choice so I wondered how he would react to my pro-life, pro-Catholic paper. I got an A+!

When I went to my GYN appointment last month, I choose none for my type of Birth Control. The nurse asked if I was trying to get pregnant. Nope, but NFP was not on the list. Her comment? Oh, that’s that rythmn method, isn’t it.

And this is a nurse in a GYN office. :hmmm: :ehh:

Reproductive health, yeah right.

In the world of Planned Parenthood and rabid pro-abortionists, black is white, up is down, and evil is good. Of course it’s crazy but Satan is really good at darkening intellects.

And yet, Blagojevich is leading in the polls specifically with women and I suspect it is because of his stances he’s taken on access to emergency contraception and birth control. It certainly isn’t his ethics or personality.

Many women do consider an unplanned pregnancy to be a health crisis. Certainly it can be a real financial crisis or logistics crisis.

As Martin Soy pointed out in post # 4, saying “reproductive health” when they could more accurately and specifically say “abortion” or “contraception” is a propaganda ploy some politicians use to divert attention away from the fact that one of the intrinsically good fundamental purposes of sexual activity is procreation. Nobody wants to say they’re against procreation or in favor of killing unborn human beings, so they try to disguise what they are actually saying by a big song and dance routine.

Want to see an example? Here is a press release from one of the so-called “Catholic” U.S. senators from my state regarding the Child Custody Protection Act, which is designed to thwart individuals other than the girl’s parents from taking her across state lines to receive an abortion – oops!, I mean “reproductive health services”.

The remarks are rambling and tedious and ultimately a bunch of typical pro-death falsehoods, so I will make them a little less so by excerpting and then you can click the link to read the whole sh-bang if you feel the need to do penance, deal?
…just another attempt by Republicans to chip away at a woman’s right to safe and legal reproductive health care… If any of these caring adults accompany a young woman across state lines to obtain reproductive health services, … Imagine a young woman living in a rural area with no reproductive health service providers, … some young women have no other alternative but to go to another state to obtain reproductive health services … the only thing this bill does do is ensure that young women who are intent on seeking reproductive health services go it alone … Proponents of this bill claim that it is needed to prevent sexual predators from taking pregnant young women across state lines to obtain reproductive health services against their will …
She does actually use the word “abortion” a couple of times. Here is one of them:
“Every one of us wants to reduce the number of abortions that occur. …”

See, now why didn’t she say “reproductive health services” there too, instead of “abortion” ? Doing that would have made her ridiculous word game more obvious. The rule seems to be to call abortion by its true name when admitting it is bad, but to call it “reproductive health services” when they don’t want to admit how bad it is.

I just heard on Relevant Radio yesterday that a Senator from my state, Dick Durbin, is trying to stall this Act from making it to committee. If he can stall for 10 days, it dies. I called his office immediately to let him know how disgusted I am.

How can anyone think it is a good thing that an adult, other than the parent, can take an underage girl across state lines to secure an abortion and circumvent parental notification laws??? It makes her vulnerable to sooooo many predatory-type people. Her 18 year old boyfriend perhaps. Her 36 year old uncle that has sexually abused her. The list of possibilities is ENDLESS. Frankly, it makes me want to cry.

Good for you for calling your Senator. 👍

If every Catholic called and rang the phone off the wall when our Senators voted for immoral choices we would be in much better shape as a nation. I’m going to pray for you right now and I feel sure God will bless you for taking action on His behalf.

Thank you for your prayers. Relevant Radio made it really easy, they said his phone number on the air!!! I got through right away, but I hope that phone was ringing off the hook for hours.
