Unfortunately we seem to have what I would call a “gun culture” in the United States…Some years ago my wife and I operated a toy store and received a children’s toys trade journal… In one issue of the journal was a cover photo of a “realistic” toy gun! We wrote a letter to the journal that we felt the ad should have no place in the journal. Well no body took much notice…but I would pose a question:

How many children have been shot for carrying a toy gun? I bet there’s more than a few…

Another case in my home town was where a boy shot the principal of the parochial school with a gun … It was the worst case of such violence in it’s time in the history of parochial schools in the U.S.

How times have changed!!! When I grew up my 4 brothers played with toy guns all their young lives and my one brother even used to “carve” toy guns out of wood so us girls (6 of us) could play with them. (Most boys had a Roy Rogers or Gene Autry gun and holster set.) They all grew up to be hunters and not one of them ever became violent!!. When I was in high school some of the guys had gun racks with their rifle in it in the back of their pickup. No one cared, no one worried and NO ONE became violent. Our young people today grow up in a very different society. To much violence in the entertainment field. So many bad influences and very little good influence in their lives. Will our society ever recover from all that harm, only GOD knows but I do know one thing we will NEVER do it without HIS help ?? God Bless, Memaw

What’s funny is my wife and I were raised in “guns are evil” households so when our oldest son was born we said “no gun toys”. By the time he was two he made guns and swords out of sticks, legos, his sister’s barbies, etc. Now 16 years later and he isn’t a serial killing monster even after having learned to throw lead down range.

Long and short is kids will play with “toy weapons” regardless of how realistic they are. Don’t sell them, fine, they will still make them anyway.

I agree… I think we should find ways to reduce the sale of firearms and have more programs to turn the guns in… There are far too many guns in our society and more regulation is needed.
As a pacifist , I support gun control, to protect the families of the nation , to a certain extent.

And look who’s doing the hatred, division and the violence. Gun maker has a great idea and lots of courage!! God Bless, Memaw
I read the Bible, and I cannot understand why God would bless weapons that kill?

God gave us the greatest commandments to love all our neighbours, including loving and praying for our enemies. Will God bless us more when we obey his greatest commandments?

More to the point, they make nice pink guns for girls, that look like a toy.
