Hacking to Silence Dissent

An interesting situation has occurred over on another forum system.

One of the groups over there that is run by a couple of outspoken modernist dissenters has been hacked and the management team demoted. This has effectively shut down the group.

Another group that was set up to counter this group is celebrating the demise of the group and that it has been silenced.

I pointed out that this hacking of the group is just the same as stealing and is a sin against the 7th commandment. I seem to be the only one whose sees it this way.

To further cloud the issue, the group has reappeared under the same name with a “1” after it. This effectively discounts their premise that it has been silenced.

My question is, am I being too harsh on the ones who are celebrating what has happened and, if not, how can I further bolster my position.

This was discussed in a chat over on another site. Some there think it is not exactly stealing because the groups are currently free to set up there. While I disagree with this, I can see their logic. However, I think the disagreement is really a perception in the degree of severity of the sin.
