Its funny how GOd works sometimes. THis morning, at mass I was trying my best, but I was feeling rather low…thinking…oh the Catholic CHurch doesnt need a sinner like me…I just cant seem to get a handle on my addiction…I should leave and do everyone a favor…
WHo am I to think I could come into a Catholic church at age 43 and make things right with GOd…(ps I was baptized RC, but not raised in any faith-after my adoption at 15 mons)
I was feeling that low, that I felt I was bringing the whole body of Christ down. But then this guest came up to me after wards and she didnt speak English but a friend translated for me and she said something to me that stuck with me and then gave me a gift…It is too personal to say on here, but it seemed to speak to me…

It was incredible experience…It was Christ acting through her and made me realize that God does care and has even used me many times to lift others’ spirits…I just somehow forgot.

My message: Never underestimate your the power of the holy spirit…it can sneak up on you at times

Glad you left Mass feeling so buoyed up by the Spirit.
Reminds me of an incident 2 years ago – I was picking up an elderly friend to go to a Bible-Study, and when she got into the car, my 5 yr old son asked if he could sing a song for her? She complied, so he belted out a very upbeat version of “Hosanna” (with the CD playing softly in the background).
Code:
Hear the sound of hearts returning to You, we turn to You
* In Your Kingdom broken lives are made new, You make us new
'Cause when we see You, we find strength to face the day
In Your Presence all our fears are washed away, washed away*
As his little voice filled the car she silently wept, and told me afterwards how low she had been feeling, how empty, and how difficult it was to make herself face the day and her challenges. And she said she felt that my DS’s song for her was the Holy Spirit encouraging and reminding her that she was not alone 🙂

We so seldom recognize how our little “insignificant” words to someone, a smile, a helping hand…can sometimes come at a crucial time for them. We often continue on our way, unsuspecting at the way the Holy Spirit just worked in us and through us.

I will say a prayer to thank God for sending this guest to you this morning, and for blessing you in this way.

Peace and God Bless,
CLM

Welcome home FMLJoliecouer!

God bless you and this lady for hearing the Holy Spirit at work.

Welcome home FMLJoliecouer!

The Catholic Church wants every sinner just like you… and me, and everyone else you saw at that Mass. That is, after all, why Christ came into this world. To bring as many of us as would come, home. Welcome back!

What a terrific story about that lady with the card. Thanks for sharing it. I have younger folks very often say something to me like, “Well there’s nothing I can do…” Hope you don’t mind, but I’m gonna print a couple copies of your post and stick them in my wallet in my “Oh yeah? Well read this” file. 😉 😃

Sometimes when I go to Mass, my head is full of things from the week before. I try to participate as best I can. But at the end, I feel like I missed something because of my preoccupation. When this happens, I simply pray, “Lord I could really use a good hug right now!” and He never fails! Sometimes (?) ya gotta surrender, not to the world, but to the Lord of Life!

The message is, I think, for you to come back to the Catholic Church, sins, addictions and all. Welcome Home!! ❤️

We are all sinners. If we were’t we’d be God. To worship God we need to accept our place as sinners. God doesn’t want us to sin but forgives us when we confess. That’s why we need God in our lives. Welcome back to the community of believers and sinners.
