Had heart attack now bypass surgery

Please pray for me and my family. In May I had a heart attack as I was in line for confession. There were 2 nurses and a doctor at the church and they saved my life. God is so good.

Now, bypass surgery scheduled for Wednesday July 9. There’s a 6-8 week recovery period. It’s in God’s hands. I’ll pray, trust God, and do whatever the doctors advise. I’m only 53. This appears to be hereditary because I have low cholesterol, good blood pressure, don’t smoke or drink, and am not overweight.

Please say some prayers. I just want to see my 5 children into adulthood and perhaps, one day, to hold a grandchild in my arms.

Jesus You ensured that Boy Wonder’s life was saved when he had his heart attack in Your sacred presence.
Now please be with him in surgery, and grant his prayer to live a long healthy life, able to support and enjoy his family.

Be sure to get the Anointing of the Sick prior to your surgery!

Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Prayer for Heart Patients to St. John of God

Dear convert, after a sinful life, through the power of God’s holy Word you learned to love your fellow human beings. Self-sacrificing, you founded the Society of Hospital Brothers. No wonder the Church made you the patron of heart patients. That is why we confidently have recourse to you. Please give assistance to Boy Wonder and teach us to be kind like you.

God, You filled St. John with the spirit of compassion. Grant that by practicing works of charity we may deserve to be numbered among the elect in Your Kingdom. Amen.

St. John of God, pray for us!
 
I’m saying prayers for your surgery and full recovery. May God bless you, strengthen you, and over-abundantly meet all of your needs.

Prayer for Healing Heart Disease

Loving Father, you bring healing to the sick and make them well again.
Trusting in your great love and mercy, and believing that
whatever I ask from you in the name of your Son, Jesus,
You will grant me if it is what is best and in accordance with your Divine Will,

I lift up to You Boy Wonder, who is in need of healing of his heart disease.
Hear my prayers and bring him into your loving presence.

Let the grace of your divine love flow to the different parts of his body,
reaching the inner recesses of his being.
Touch his heart and all the areas afflicted with sickness
and let his body organs function normally.
Touch his blood vessels and arteries and let his blood flow properly.

Bring healing to all his nerves, muscles and tissues,
especially those surrounding his heart.
Console him, ease his pain and suffering and restore him
to full health in body, mind and spirit.

May he find hope in his suffering and offer it as a share in your own passion.
Create a new heart in him and renew his life, loving Father.
And after he has been healed, may he be a witness of your
healing power and love and bring glory, honor and praise to you.

Dear St. Giuseppe Moscati, true model of Christian doctors, in the exercise of your medical profession, you always took care of both the body and soul of every patient. Look on us, who have recourse to your heavenly intercession, and obtain for us both physical and spiritual health, and a share in the dispensation of heavenly favors.

Soothe the pains of our suffering people; give comfort to the sick, consolation to the afflicted and hope to the despondent.

May our young people find in you an ideal, our workers an example, the aging a comfort, the dying the hope of eternal salvation.

To all of us be a pattern of industriousness, honesty and charity, so we may comply with our Christian duties and glorify God our Father.

Thanks to all who have been praying for me. The surgery went well. The recovery is slow but steady. Keep praying. I see the fear, love, and concern in my kids’ eyes. I want to be here for them.

Went to confession and Communion before the surgery. Was anointed a couple days afterwards (priest couldn’t make it the day before). Missed my daily rosary the day of the operation and two or three days afterwards, but prayed as best as I could in an opiated haze. I am overwhelmed by God’s love and mercy - evidence of that is everywhere.
