There is nothing in the rubrics of the Mass that instruct anyone to hold hands. Obviously the Church has no desire to prevent a married couple or family from holding hands during prayers if they so choose. However, no one can be forced to adopt a posture of prayer that is not called for by the rubrics of the Mass.
