Oh Happiness! I have been looking forward to this day. My Mother Angelica book arrived today. I have only been able to spend 5 minutes looking at the book but I already found out that she and I have something in common. We are both 5 feet five. Anbody else have the book? Oh, in case you don’t know…her name was Rita Rizzo.

It looks like I am the only one fortunate enough to have Raymond Arroyo’s book about Mother Angelica’s life. I wish I could share it with all of you. There are many surprises in the book that I don’t want to spoil for you so I am purposely not giving the details. Raymond Arroyo has brilliantly captured the “real” Mother Angelica. Today is Saturday September 10. Tonight on EWTN Raymond will be interviewed on “Bookmark” which will air at 8:00Eastern and 5:00 Pacific time. If you miss it or can’t tape it I hope it will be repeated at a later date.

I plan on getting a copy for my library, but I have to wait until payday!

The interview on EWTN last Wednesday made the book sound really, really interesting.

Thank you Stargazer. I was feeling as lonely as Mother Angelica when nobody came to my thread. God bless you for raising my spirits! :blessyou: I am really identifying with Mother. She is teaching me to “love” any setbacks or challenges God might choose to give me. Now that I received one response I feel uplifted. Am I being melodramatic…or what!!

My book is on the way! The interviews I’ve seen on EWTN with Raymond Arroyo really sparked my interest in her life. I can’t wait.

Thank you all you sweet hearts who responded to this thread. You now have my permission to continue any more discussion of the Mother Angelica book on the other thread. It makes no sense to have two threads so I will encourage anyone who reads the book to respond to the other thread. :tiphat:

I can’t wait to get my copy and have Ray sign it in San Antonio!!!

I love that line in EWTN by Mother Angelica:

We must be willing to do the ridiculous so God can do the miraculous.

Me too!(but payday awaits any purchases) 😉

Hello Onetruechurch:
I love Mother Angelica too. I have a little story to tell if you haven’t seen it before. I was away from the Church for over 20 years and my mom prayed and prayed for me and told me all about Mother Angelica and how she loved her. Well, I knew nothing about Mother Angelica since I didn’t get EWTN. In 1999 I had an urge to go to Mass and ran like a lunatic to Mass and didn’t know why i had those feelings. I spoke to the priest after Mass, broke down hysterically crying, and am now fully back to my church. When I told my mother she said she knew this was going to happen. She said she wrote Mother a letter about me and got a response that in one week I would go back to Church. I knew nothing about this and it did happen the week Mother mentioned. So I thank Mother Angelica for praying for me and for my mom for praying for many years for me. I love Mother Angelica - I now have EWTN and my heart breaks when I see her unable to speak after her two strokes. She is a living Saint and I love her. And Raymond Arroyo is amazing for such a young man - he is so brave after he lost everything in the Hurricane. I also wish I was rich enough to cover her financial burden. I just give what I can each month to help her. Sorry for the long post. MaryAnn

👋 I just found this thread. God really worked wonders in Rita Rizzo’s life. She’s a blessed gift to everyone. Jesus took her and formed her into a modern-day Saint. Just think of how many people she’s converted.

I saw the EWTN interviews with Raymond about the book & I can’t wait to get it.

I just saw Raymond Arroyo this weekend in Buffalo NY speaking about his book and the life of Rita Rizzo.

He was an amazing speaker - even did Mother A impersonations as he spoke about her with great love.

The book should be cool- can’t wait to read how the Holy Spirit has worked miracles through her.

Wow…I am touched by all the responders! I hope I live long enough to see Mother Angelica cannonized! With all the miracles she has already been involved with, there is no way she will not become a saint. She has already inspired me to “learn to love irritating people”. In fact, just this morning my husband who is a physician told me he had a difficult time during a procedure last night because a nurse was very difficult to work with. He was still upset about it this morning. I then told him that even Mother Angelica had a hard time dealing with difficult people and I told him about some of the examples in her book. I ended it by telling him that the nurse was helping him “work off his purgatory” and was actually a gift of God. I told him instead of being angry with her he should pray for her. My husband looked at me at first as if I were crazy and then before he went off to work this morning he smiled and agreed that he would be “working off his purgatory” today. I consider it a tiny little “miracle” that I just happened to be reading about Mother Angelica’s “irritating people” at the same time my husband needed those encouraging words. 🙂
