If praying in front of a statue or anything else constitutes idolatry of that thing, I suppose every minister who prays in front of his congregation is worshipping his flock.

What would you call that? Sheepolatry? Gregolatry?

Is praying while standing on Earth “geolatry”?

Is praying while surrounded by thin air “aerolatry”?

The implications of this new rule are endless…

And are these guys worshipping a box of kleenex?

Thanks PRM for getting us back away from the “puke humor”…

I think we all can see the fallacy of the allegation. I mean all us guys who get down on (at least) one knee to ask a girl to marry us …are we worshiping her? Is he giving her the adoration due to God alone? Perhaps in some secular cases I suppose, but among Christians?

One wonders how its proponents cannot see the fallacy of these kinds of statements.

On another point:

How is the Bishop’s response to the proselytized person’s letter in any way less than a charitable and frank appeal for the individual’s soul in the context of authentic spiritual realities and the deception they have fallen for?

How does it differ much from the letters to Catholics that we see in Gendron’s other news blasts? Does he not make very similar statements yet with much less charity and compassion?
