On this day in 1540 Pope Paul III granted Ignatius of Loyola and his companions the charter to start their order.

Thanks be to God for the Jesuits, and all they have done and will continue to do to spread the Word.

Amen. Even though there are some (including myself) who believe that he Jesuits need some reforming as an order, the Society of Jesus should always be remembered as a group that has led many to the Church.
