This post is really for people who have read all 6 published books in the Harry Potter series. On my blog (a completely empty blog that I don’t really bother to advertise so no one visits it), I just posted my theory about book seven. The reason I mention it here is because I do believe there is evidence that the series is going this direction ever since I read book 5. I really think that book 7 will really redeem the series (so long as Rowling doesn’t make Harry doing anything that resembles suicide in order to accomplish what I believe she’s leaning toward).

I’d really like to hear other people’s (name removed by moderator)ut as to my speculation, but again I say only people who have read the 6 books. If you haven’t read them, you will have no clue as to what I’m talking about when I mention Horcruxes.

Personally, I don’t think that Harry himself is the horcrux. Now, maybe his scar is. That would explain the connection/possession in OotP.

Nagini probably is one. I can’t explain the scene in the DoM in OotP without her being a horcrux. Unless there is a connection because of her feeding Voldemort (yuck).

But we haven’t seen anything from Ravenclaw yet in the series. We’ve seen the sword of Godric Griffindor, the cup of Helga Huffelpuff and the ring of Salazar Slytherin. I’m thinking either the wand in the window in Diagon Alley (PS/SS) or the tiara (HBP) belongs to Rowena Ravenclaw and could be a horcrux. It doesn’t fit the pattern to just leave out one of the founders. Its possible that this is a dead end though.

Its fun to have theories, but I’m not sticking by any of them because I’m not the author. JKR has known the ending of book 7 since she wrote the first book. She has done alot of planning and, I think, has hidden the ending in books 1-6. Its been fun sleuthing through all the books and I wonder if I know the ending if I’ll like the books as much. You know, the journey being more important than the arrival.

I think it is a nice theory but I don’t think Harry is a horcrux.

What I wonder about is the look of triumph that Dumbledore had in book 4 when Harry was telling him about Voldemort using his blood.

My theory is that this has something to do with the destruction of a horcrux. DD’s blackened hand (dead hand) I think, is the result of destroying the ring horcrux. In PS/SS Snape tells the class that he can “put a stopper in death” or something like that. I think he was doing that with DD all year in HBP (Yes, I think Snape is still on the good side). If Harry (or his scar) is not a horcrux than the blood connection can explain the connection/possession in OotP. More importantly that connection to VM will allow Harry to destroy the Horcruxes without a penalty of death. Just a guess based on what I’ve gotten out of the books. Like I said, I have alot of fun guessing where JKR will go with the next book.

About that look of triumph I figured that was due to the fact that now that Voldermort was human again he could be destroyed.

I don’t think Harry is the horcrux. In all the other cases of the horcruxes whatever is turned into one becomes evil. Harry hasn’t become evil.

I figured Dumbledore was going to die in this book because how can you have a fight to the end with Voldemort in the final book if you always think the Dumbledore will come in to save the day.

I figure the last book will just be the 3-some looking for the horcurxes maybe with the help of the Order. Then it will come down to a final battle and somehow the love/friendship between the 3 will undo Voldemort.

just got off the phone with grandson who laid out his entire theory of where this series is going (he gave it to me before the last book and he was pretty much right about that one), but it was to complex for me to follow. He started reading these books in second grade, is now a 4th grader and has read all of them. I will just wait for the book and enjoy it.
