Just curious if there is any tradition/legend of a saint that moved a mountain by faith…

Don’t have a quote, but… I believe there is a legend of a mountain moving or splitting open for Mary on her way to see Elizabeth?🤷

quick google search gave me St. Gregory Thaumaturgus, or Gregory the Miracle Worker. According to tradition, he moved a mountain so a church could be build, in addition to some other cool miracles.

And, there are the miracles of grace that move the mountains in my mind that are blocking my getting closer to the Lord and doing His Will.

There’s this Englishman who went up a hill and came down a mountain…

Actually this reminds me there’s a legend about St. David in Wales

His best-known miracle is said to have taken place when he was preaching in the middle of a large crowd at the Synod of Brefi: the village of Llanddewi Brefi stands on the spot where the ground on which he stood is reputed to have risen up to form a small hill. A white dove, which became his emblem, was seen settling on his shoulder.

This mosaic of St. David in Westminster Cathedral in London (here being blessed by Pope Benedict) contains some of the stone from that very same spot

There are many kinds of mountains. Moving a pile of dirt is likely small potatoes compared to moving men’s hearts, and numerous saints have accomplished that.
