Has anyone else been to a Latin Novus Ordo?

I have visited their website before and it looks like a really beautiful and orthodox church. I hope I can go sometime. Though I don’t foresee myself going to San Francisco anytime soon.

I think Our Savior has one at 9 on Sundays, on Park Ave. in between Kips Bay and Korea Town, but you should call and check first.

I have always loved when Latin was used in the Mass but also love the Novus Ordo form so for me it was fantastic. I really wish it was offered in Latin more often, but this Mass was at a religious community I hope to join so I might get it every day some day. 🙂

My city has one, ten minutes away if I take the bike. Never went there though.
 
I’ve only been once, it was at a Benedictine monastery in Massachusetts about an hour for me. It was really lovely.
 
I went to a Mass that was Ordinary Form but mixed both Latin and English. English was used for the readings, hymns, homily and a few other parts of the Mass. The rest was in Latin. I was a visitor at this particular church and had I known they were doing that way, I would’ve brought in my EF Mass Missal to be able to respond easier on parts I’d know by heart. I just wish I could go to that type more often but its so far from me.

the OF/NO will be new until its 1000th birthday.
the EF/TLM has been around 1500 years.

and answer to the OP, yup, I’ve been to a latin NO. It was the most attended mass in the whole diocese!

Settle down. I haven’t heard anyone use the name “Novus Ordo” in a very long time except for those who dislike the Ordinary Form of the Mass.
 
Can we please use the terms ordinary form and extraordinary form? They are the most correct, and what is used in the most recent documents.
 
I’m in a men’s gregorian chant group, and we’ve done it all: Vernacular OF, Latin OF, and Latin EF (Low Mass all the way up to a Pontifical Nuptial Mass ).

IMHO, people are hungering for the sacred, and praying as a corporate body in a sacred tongue fulfills a deep need in the Body of Christ that has been ignored for years. Jews and Muslims are cashing in on this need with their prayers in Hebrew and Arabic. People can argue about the content of the prayers being superior in the EF or the succinctness being superior in the OF, but my experience has been that people want to experience something transcendent when they go to Mass. For many, the vernacular Mass with all its attempts to bring the Mass down to the lowest common denominator ends up boring people.

Give people beautiful music and sacred language and they will leave that Mass feeling like they’ve touched Heaven. Give them campfire P&W and dumbed-down verbiage for prayers and they will feel like they’ve been to nursery school

I know of one in Bethlehem CT at the Abbey of Regina Laudis. Mass is celebrated at 8 AM daily.

They are contemplative Benedictine women. I have gone there several times. The mass is beautiful and includes Gregorian Chant.
 
I have been to a couple at Thomas Aquinas College. I believe the odinary form in latin is the standard there.
This was a few yearas ago, but they had a Latin missal with their own english translation next to it so you could follow along. They did not use the (now old) standard english translation because it was so inaccurate. This is how I learned that our old translation was so bad. Note: they did NOT say a english mass using their translation. They simply had their english translation to aid you in following the latin.
