Has anyone ever been to the Shrine of Mary Queen of the Universe?

I forgot to mention, Disney used to allow Mass to be Celebrated on site, at one of their hotels. They did away with it a few years back.
Anyway, have a great trip!
I read that on their site. It was at the Polynesian Hotel in their Luau (sp?) Cove on the shore of seven seas lagoon. Really pretty place!

I am figuring that it will be a little too touristy too but DH (who’s not Catholic and doesn’t care for church) wants to stay close to Disney so we can get there early on Sunday.
I happened upon this accidentally also. It was not too touristy. It was fabulous and quite peaceful. You will love it.

I felt blessed to have “accidentally” run into this. God has a strange way of calling and leading.

Allow me to clear up my original post, the Shrine itself was beautiful, the crowd was touristy. If you go there, go early and sit toward the front. I have attended Mass there on several occasions and there were a lot of people who came well after the Mass had started, and there were quite a few shorts/mickey shirts. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy the people came to Mass while obviously on vacation, but it was mostly a tourist crowd. Oh and the one time we were there, the priest actually spent the first few minutes asking where people were from. That to me is touristy.
Mass was at the Polynesian, except on Easter when the large crowd made it necessary to use a ball room at the Contemporary. Disney may still do the Easter Mass.

Of course it was! You’re about 3 min from Disney! Few are going to get dressed up to go to mass while at Disney - thems are just the facts like it or not - reverent or not.

In fact, I am absolutely sure I had on a tank top and shorts the day I found the shrine. Like I said, I stumbled upon the place.

The resident priest is thrilled to see people form all over the world to spread the news of Our Lady and the shrine. Remember, the shrine exists on donations alone.

To the OP, go to see the majesty and beauty of the shrine. Do not get bogged down by the appearance of the folks around you for you do not know why God led them to the shrine - though be certain He has a plan and it is ALL good.

Just a side note, since DH only wants to go to Mass and we have to check out of our hotel at 11 that Sunday, he promised me that I could stay a while at the Shrine and he would go back to the room and pack up our stuff and then come get me like and hour or so later. That way I could spend some time doing what I wanted to there! I may have some problems with him sometimes but he can be so sweet most of the time!!! ❤️ ❤️
