I just happened upon this video last week and have since ordered the book. Has anyone experienced or heard of the Illumination of Conscience? The video is about 40 minutes long and the book documents the testimony of some who have recently experienced this phenomenon. Their experiences are both terrifying as well as incredibly life changing.
Please if anyone has time to view the video I would appreciate any (name removed by moderator)ut.

Sadly, I have not.

In my four-plus decades as a Catholic, I have found discernment of conscience to be like, as an Anglican divine put it (William Porcher Dubose, which is about as Southern as a name can possibly get), like walking barefoot at midnight through a barnyard full of chicken ordure (only he did not say “ordure”).

Homeschool Dad, from the video and the book, I’ve learned that a true illumination of conscience is a grace from God. The person actually sees Our Lord also sometimes the Blessed Mother and the pain their sins have caused Jesus. Supposedly, this is something that will happen to everyone in the world…after the Warning which is when all lights will go out, the only light will come from His Cross which will be visible to everyone.

Good book would recommend. The Warning: want it to happen, hope it happens in my lifetime, but no idea when it will happen. Their website Countdowntothekingdom.com is very interesting as well.

Thank you Kevin for the link. The book is fascinating. I found myself afraid at the descriptions I’ve read about the Warning but, like you, I also want it to happen in my lifetime.
God bless you and yours.

It will be a wonderful day when (and if) that happens — the first step towards restoring the world into some semblance of what it should be.

Hopefully, then “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

You can pray for that grace. Also, grace of sorrow for your sins and grace to see how painful our sins are to Jesus are fruits of meditation of Sorrowful Mysteries of Rosary and meditating on Jesus’s Passion and death. Those are graces and gifts but we shouldn’t just wait for them to fall from sky by themselves but to pray for them and ask Jesus to give us if it is His will.

This site Countdown to the kingdom puts too much emphasis on apocalyptic and it should be visited with caution. Recently, two posters started topics related to people from that site (few days later it showed up that they are unapproved by Church on their revelations) and for many it does not bring peace and good fruits, usually just fear, anxiety and desperation.
So… with big grain of salt!

I have read the book recommended to me by a good priest I know. Its deeply moving. I’m glad I read it when we were still able to go to confession is all I can say.
I do wish it will happen in my life and don’t at the same time, I’m glad I have no say in the matter and trust in God with it. As though I want the grace to change and never sin even a little, I dread seeing how I’ve offended my Blessed Saviour but I know it will be good for me. I trust that he will prepare me for it and lead me as he always does.

Bluelight, you have described exactly how I feel. How I wish everyone would read her book or at least view the video. I miss going to Church and receiving His Body and Blood more than I can describe. Sometimes when was back in the pew after receiving Communion I would cry from the sheer joy within me. Now I cry just thinking of how much I have hurt Jesus. Once while saying the Divine Mercy chaplet I saw Jesus being scourged but it was me holding the whip and my tears didn’t stop for a long long time. I can’t imagine seeing what all my sins have done to Him but at least I will be forgiven.
God bless you

Inbonum, I agree that that meditating on the mysteries especially the Passion and death of Jesus gives us the graces we need. As for the church not approving those revelations, the church hasn’t approved Medjugorje either and our church as we know it today is filled with rife. It is still Christ’s church on earth but I believe Jesus will renew it and us. After reading the book, I am convinced that hopefully in my lifetime I will see the warning in the sky and know that most if not all people will bend their knees and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It’s been a long time coming and our world doesn’t heed His words.
Just my opinion.

God bless

I’ve read The Warning and found it credible–of course none of us know, but it sounded fully like something that may happen. Anyway, we will certainly all experience it one way or another at our death as we appear before Our Lord. I’ve found myself praying that I get little doses of it so that I don’t faint in shock when I see what my sins have really been and done.

Lemoncello, from reading the testimonies of those who have experienced the Illumination of Conscience, though at first their fear and sorrow is great, the mercy of Jesus calms them. His eyes filled with forgiveness, sorrow and a love none of us have ever experienced. Though I too am afraid to face how my sins have hurt my Jesus, I know that it brings a closeness to Jesus that’s unexplained. I can’t wait.
God bless

Patti
