I just read an article called “Door-to-Door with the Legion of Mary” by Robert H. Nyssen from a 1990 issue of This Rock magazine. I could be very interested in this evangelization for my parish if it could be set up. Any experience?

yes… i’m a legionary for the past 20 plus yrs… Not just praying… we evangelise, visit the sick… teach catechism, etc… meeting once a week…
Very interesting… If you are keen… go for a meeting ask yr parish priest to direct you…

come back and share how the meeting goes…

Cheers’

I live on the fringes of Appalachia. I don’t know if there is anything here related to the Legion of Mary close enough or not. I wanted to find out more about how your programs work before I go to the priest with any suggestions. I don’t know what kind of group it is exactly although I read what I found on the internet and in the article mentioned. Can you tell me more? Do you live in a big city?

Try here legion-of-mary.org.nz/the-work/.

I am not a Legion member but I support them with donations and I used to meet with them at times and pray the Legion prayers, which I got out of the habit of when I went back to work full-time.

We have a strong and flourishing Legion in the parish I attend as our priest is the spiritual director for our city.

Hello! I would like to know where you are from so I might be able to direct you to your nearest Curia. You have to get permission first from your priest, and then you go from there. You would have to find at least 3 other people who would be willing to become the officers. However, you normally will have to have someone come from another praesidium to help you navigate through the beginning of your group. To start on your own without the knowledge of the Legion is not recommended. If the priest does not want it right now, you will have to wait. Even if he does not want the Legion right now, if there is a Legion close to you in another parish, you can go there and attend, or you can become Auxiliary. Please contact me for more information. It is a very wonderful group, with many graces for you, and it is a big help for the priest as well.
