Wahabism is more of a myth, there is no muslim that ive ever met that calls himself wahaabi. Rather the label is just thrown around by certian muslims (of various sects) to muslims whom they feel are too strict in applying the Islamic texts and in how they practice the religion. Usually orthodox Sunni muslims are labeled as wahabis, because they respect and accept the teachings of Muhammed ibn Abdul Wahaab, but its not only them that get this label thrown at them. I find its usually those who are strict in their monotheism and how they worship God in Islam (ie. those who forbid supplicating or seeking intercession from dead saints and prophets, or visiting them at their graves and calling upon them, etc) that are given this label by those who engage in those acts.
Im also aware of the media portrayal that ‘Wahabism’ is the supposed cause of the extremism and terrorism going on today, claiming Bin Laden follows the ‘wahabi’ interpretation of Islam. Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahaab did not preach terrorism or extremism, hes preaching was centered around riding the polytheistic practices of the Muslims in the arabian peninsula and reviving the correct monotheism of Islam. So he wrote many works on defining and expounding upon the basic principles and foundations of Islam, like its Pillars of Faith, the principles of Tawheed (Islamic Monotheism), the principles of Shirk (Polytheism), how a Muslim should worship God, how to follow the Messenger, and other very basic yet essential aspects of Islam that he believed the Muslims during his time had heavily deviated from.

Oh and about the Nation of Islam, this group has nothing to do with Islam. Its just a racist cult who hate white people. They have no associate with Islam except that they insist on using the name ‘Islam’ and ‘Muslim’. When Malcolm X went to make pilgrimage to Makkah, he realized the true Islam and converted. For that they assasinated him.
