Not just christianity, but I’ve noticed an increased attack on Judaism, Hindism and moderate Islamics.
They attack Moderate Islamics most, trying to make every muslim look like Osama Bin Laden, or other extremists. The fact is although as catholics we do not agree with Islam, The CCC says this “Muslims worship the same god, but do not have the right interpretation”, therefore by inference we must defend these moderate Islamics from atheists and show them compassion so perhaps they will one day consider the bible instead of the Koran.
Judaism is attacked as a closely related religion to Christianity. But they do not attack the fundamentals, they attack it politically and portray Israel the country itself as “the states attack dog in the Middle east” thus making it’s religion look “Zionist”, which is an indirect attack on “fundamentalist” Christians too. It is no longer in media looked upon as the victim of a terrible annilation,. the reason it was pulled back into existence, but is now painted as the “abused child, abusing others”. This occurred gigantically during last year of cause when Hesbollah kidnaped those soldiers and israel decided to stop hezbollah’s evil intimidation game by cutting it down.
Hinduism is attacked spiritually, it is looked upon as being “hermit like” and anti-social in the media.
While Christianity is not attacked on it’s tenents, but on it’s Archeology and also specifically the Catholic faithful which is consistently attacked in media. Luckily people like Mel Gibson, Jim Cavezel and the directors who made “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” and “The Nativity Story” have managed to keep putting out Catholic(or the closely related SSPX) opinions against the tidal wave of atheism. Matthew 16:18 is once again brought to our minds.
The fact is all religions must combine to defend the fact that we all believe in something greater than this existence, We are all under attack from Athiesm and Satanism. We must take the example of Mr Caveziel, working in the secular realm as a devout Catholic presenting his opinion to atheists, not just by playing Jesus, but by constantly talking about Jesus.
