I live in NE, FL where the Protestant community is larger than the Catholic one. I often hear store clerks in the checkout line say, ‘Have a blessed day!’. This is nice to hear and I recognize it as a witness to their faith which is a good thing. However, I have not been able to bring myself to wish people a blessed day. It’s not, I guess, Catholic enough for me.
‘Have a blessed day’ seems kinda safe and benign.
What about ‘peace be with you.’ Is that okay to use outside of mass? I don’t see why not. I suppose it may be odd for others to hear, but no more so than wishing someone a merry Christmas when it is after the new year.
