Hello. Yes I get vary angry with God and a few tiems just screamed and yelled saying I have had enough. I feel guilty afterwards, Yes God is a big guy and he can handle our immature beating on our chests, I think anger is an emotion that is valid. May not be a positive one but still a valid emotion. But I think thanks is a much better way to go. But yes I get hoppin mad at him most certainly. Scoob.

i have, many times… though sometimes i have to admit that, when i thought about it, it wasn’t really God i was angry with… although maybe i kinda was because, after all, He has the power to control things…

tha’ts not to say he is going to, though… 😃

I don’t usually stay angry with God (but maybe i shouldn’t say that because now the devil is going to say… “Hmmm… :hmmm: we’ll see about that!” :ouch: )…

So… have you ever been angry at God & not tried very hard to get over it??
yes, but that is part of being in a relationship. it is very important that you realize his majesty though. yelling at God doesn’t help, but it does stink that He has omnipotence and stills holds back- we just have to work through anger and frustration and submit ourselves to the Providence, Wisdom and Will of God. telling God what to do is always a bad idea.

What bothers me is that God can do anything and he can make any situation more bearable. But he just sits there and lets awful things happen. My Father who is 66 has been his whole life struggle finaically as well as me. You would think that when you reach 66 God would make atleast some things easier. I feel that I am as talented as Tiger Woods in a different way. Musician, I can’t get arrested. I am not asking God to let me be a billian aire or even a millionaire. I just want these financial worries to go away. Let me make a decent living not a huge living but a decent living doing something I love doing. Yet God just won’t. It psses me off to no end. And to rub salt in the wound Tiger Woods is even younger than me!!! bllsht. I am getting angry now and it is time to go to confession for jealiousy and coveting and a few more things. I mean Tiger Woods was blessed and he deserves it for he is talanted. I don’t hate the guy for it. Just wish God would bless me a little in the financial area. Let my Father spend the rest of his life without worry,I mean is God going to finaly let him rest and enjoy life when he is in his 80s when you have less time to enjoy it?? God surely won’t stop the age clock even though he makes you wait for freken ever. very frustrating. Scoob.

Well… my earthly family is still pretty much in tatters. Some are outside of the Church. And all of us are separated, by thousands of miles.
i could say the same hting…
But through the loving concern and gracious intercession, of Our Blessed Mother, Mary… my “anger” toward God has now been disintegrated! She has brought me closer to the Merciful Heart of her Son (our Precious Jesus), than I ever was before in my life.
i probably should talk to Mary more about the problems in my family… I pray the St. Jude prayer sometimes but probably need to do that more also… they do so much “damage” to my mind and heart that right now, i find it difficult to even think about them… which sometimes leads to me not wanting to pray for them… but i try to resist that temptation… (to avoid pain)… There was something in today’s Mass readings about… how because we accept suffering, we are… with God… or something like that… I can get the exact words later… but anyway, it hit home…

God bless… 🙂

i think anger is very positive… it is a sign that something is not right. When you get angry @ someone, it can mean (among other things) that either something is wrong with that person’s behavior or you are expecting something you shouldn’t expect from him/her… or both…

anger should be examined… as should other feelings… I think everyone should keep a Feelings Journal… where they can express all their anger, bitterness, resentment, sadness and/or whatever… (addressing all entries to Jesus is best)… and the Jouranl should never be place where someone else can read it… If you know someone may read it, you may not be yourself… or be totally honest… I used to keep this kind of journal… Not so much anymore… but probably should… The other day, I read from entries over 10 yrs old… VERY interesting… How i have changed… some for the better, some kinda not… 😦 but i learned a lot from reading it… (What was really interesting was the ways in which i have NOT changed much…which can be good or bad… depending on perspective…). But it is ALWAYS good to know yourself… The saints say that is very important… (definitely contributes to making one humble… ) :o

So… have you ever been angry at God & not tried very hard to get over it??
Yes…my parents’ deaths as a kid, made me very angry later in my adult life. I didn’t grieve for a looooong time…as a kid, you just sort of ‘go on with life,’ and you don’t even know how to grieve at 10yrs old. I often have been angry with God in the past, but that was largely because I didn’t grieve. Once I went through the grief process, I realized that one of the steps, if you will, is anger. Anger at yourself, your circumstance, and God, even. It is not terrible to question God, or even be angry–I think that it’s wrong to walk away from God, and thankfully, I was never tempted to do that. I just wanted Him to help me, even though I thought He could have controlled my parents not dying when they did.

All in all, life worked out, and the experience has shaped me and helped me grow as a person. Now, strangely enough, the very thing I was angry with God over, I’m now grateful for. Not grateful that I grew up without parents, but grateful that I grew from it, and God taught me that my crosses can be used as teaching tools for others.

It sounds like you have made the best of the pain… I have tried to do that also, although something happened years ago, very similar to what you went through, that made so angry @ God… i asked Him, “why should i serve You? You aren’t helping me?}” or somehting like that… and like you say, now i see where the whole situation helped me in ways… well, it is hard to say in words…

I think the problem is that people want God to do what thye want… and God cares about entirely different things than we do…
All he cares about, really, is us finding Him… and staying with Him… He knows that 'all is vanity and a chase after wind"… but we don’t know things like that we… we don’t know what he knows… & even when we do know… we sometimes don’t care…!! :banghead: :hypno:

yes I agree that anger is a good thing when directed at something deserving it. I would think that getting mad at God and yelling at him when you have had enough would be more acceptable to God then saying “well there is no God he don’t exist” or well I don’t care if he exists or not" if you get mad at God it shows you beleive in him. Didnt Jesus say if you are luke warm I will spit you out. Being mad at God you are Hot not luke warm. Scoob.

that made me laugh… even though i know you weren’t trying to be funny…

Part of what made me laugh is that it is so true… (in my world anyway)… It seems that God just sits back and lets me (us) suffer… But you know… He did that with his own Son… :hmmm: :hypno: or so it seems… I was praying the Sorrowful mysteries of the rosary the other day (Do you do that??) & all of the sudden this weird thing happened that had never happened before… I thoght of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsamane… with the Cross ahead of him and all that… and i just suddenly could NOT fathom it . Yes, i have had problmes fathoming it before… Every time i pray the sorr. myst. But this time… i got to thinking: “God, how could you allow this??”. Yes, i have “been there” before also… but this time… i couldn’t seem 2 get beyond it… I just had to ask myself: Do you believe it happned or don’t you?" and… in faith, i said (a weak) Yes… I then made myself remember the Real Presence of Christ in the Church… Any time i have doubts, thinking of the Real Presence takes them away like nothing else… (Do you spend time with Jesus at the Blessed Sacrament?)
Anyway, Jesus wnts us to be able to relate to Him… so all our sufferings… are like His… in many ways… Jesus, for instance, knew what it was like to be poor… as you and your father are… He knew what it was like to want to be able to do things… good things… and not be able to… (healings, etc…).
It is a wonderful thing to be able to find parallels between our sufferings and those of Christ… because it is so true that you can’t understand someone, much love that someone, unless you have walked at least a mile in his shoes…

God bless…

. Hence I don’t think being angry at The Lord is justified…though entirely understandable 🙂
well, maybe it is all a matter of semantics or rhetoric… but i do tend to feel that anger at God is “justified”…

any relationship where one party has all the power (and knowledge, etc.) and the other has none or little… is going to have problems…

Jesus said you would be “hated by all”… Frankly, i believe that God is (often) included in that “all”…

Maybe it is true that God never actaully hates anyone, literally… but he DOES hate our sins… and sometimes, well, we all know how hard it can be to separate the sin from the sinner… and since we are created in his image… well, you get my drift… Maybe he is the same way… somewhat… (a big SOMEWHAT)…
So, God doesn’t hate anyone… but if you FEEL that he hates you, well, He does… The Bible says “As a man thinketh, so is he.”

I really believe that God… wants us to go through certain things… He has his reasons. I think i know a few of them… but i will refrain from saying… right now…

Anyway… Everything happens for a reason… :)*

Yes, I have wanted to literally bang my head.😃

I think that for me, what I still to this day grapple with–is fear of loss. I have made leaps and bounds with it now, but every now and then…it will creep up on me. I will say to God…‘why didn’t you…’ and then I stop myself. I guess I sometimes want to undo history, thinking that I wouldn’t have any struggles had my parents stayed alive into my adult years, but really? We all have crosses to bear, and no one goes through life unscathed. It’s in that refinement process that we grow…growing hurts though sometimes, and when we hurt, we become angry. Who wants to suffer, you know? But, I just can’t imagine where I’d be today, had I not clung to God during my grief.

sometimes I just feel that God plays favoritism and that he gives certain people more graces than others. No matter how much you trust and believe. Just like an artist will love a certain song over another that he wrote or a painting that an artist painted versus another. Lately that is how I think God looks at us. I may be wrong , but all I know is what I am dealing with and I see that some people have more help graces, easier or I should say more joyious way to go than others.I see some people living their dream at an early age (hence more time to enjoy it) while others only long for anything close to living their dream or desires. who knows maybe tomorrow I will wake up and averything will change and I will get to have what I see others are enjoying. I am not very happy with him right now but it will work out I am sure. I surely beleive in God to where I KNOW he exists and I am tryign to trust in him. But tick tock time is flying by and I see more grey in my hair so God isn’t stopping the clock as far as age is concerned but who knows. Though I do thank him very much for all he has done for me. Just frustrated right now There are other people though that have a lot more to be angry about than I for sure. God Bless scoob.

I’ll have to agree to differ on some of your points, Distracted…but with the above:thumbsup:

scoobydoo6v92, actually God doesn’t play favoritism, it’s us who think that certain gifts and situations are better than others. People would say that a rich talented artist is more blessed than the poor untalented bum. Who says? Actually from the gospels it would seem that the poor are more blessed (Jesus never said Blessed are the rich after all). I know it’s not easy to see so-called luckier people having life easier than us (I have a few gripes about that myself) but trust in God and the fact that you will be used in some way. It’s not our business how big or small that way is.
Furthermore, a beggar may be happier than a millionaire- it depends on how they see life.🙂

there is some scripture about how God chastises… and that we hate the chastisement while it is happening… but… well, i cna’t recall the passage word for word… Maybe you know it??

But anyway, we are all children in his eyes… we think we are so smart but he is, of course, a lot “smarter” (wiser)… and he wants us to be on the same page iwth him, so to speak… so… being human, part of us doesn’t want to be on the same page… :hypno: :ouch: :banghead:

did you see that oprah show on the homeless guy who was given 100,000… & how he basically spent it foolishly… & ended up homeless again… said something to the effect that he was kinda meant to be homeless…

Weird… I hate to say it… cause i feel for the guy… but … it reminded me of that saying… "you know how God feels about money by who has it… "

he didn’t have it for long… hmmm… :hmmm:

it seems a lot of people with money end up losing it… the ones who would make good use of it… never get it… Well, OK, i shouldn’t say never…
