One time a about 3 years ago I was attending a week long bible institute and after a reconciliaton service I remember that it seemed as though no one else was there and I (in my soul) was backing up to the crucified Christ reading myself to climb upon the cross when I suddenly felt His sweet, loving arms around me and He whispered to me that I did not have to do that as He had already done it for me and that He loves me. WOW!! Needless, to say the guilt and shame that was in my soul was replaced with His peace. Since that day I am extremely aware of His presence with me and my life has changed dramatically. I intimately experience Him in everything that I do and in everyone that I meet. Praise God! :extrahappy:

I have been in deep awe with God many times!
One of them happened during my birth father’s death.
I flew over thousands of mountains and the Pacific ocean to the other side of the earth to say goodbye at his death bed.

A priest, Fr. Richard, my college Catholic group counselor, who had the gift of healing prayed for my father. The prayer took place in the priest’s office at the church, with me representing my father because the hospital ward was semi-private and was noisy.

During the healing prayer, I had vivid mystic visions of our Lord Jesus by my father’s side. The vision was so clear and real. It was a true life encounter. I immediately turned from a sad, panic, crying person into total calmness and peace, a peace beyond any understanding.

Toward the end of Father Richard’s prayer, I saw a smile on my father’s face and I saw Jesus who was standing at the bed side was leaving, turning into a bright light and disappearing from the ceiling. In my heart I was begging “Jesus, please don’t go.” Then couple minutes later the phone rang. My sister called to say that our father just passed away and there was a smile on his face.

I knew that smile was the same smile I saw in my vision. And the time I saw Jesus leave was the time my father passed away.

This encounter with Jesus gave me such a deep peace that I did not cry at all for my father’s passing away. Mu faith and my outlook to life was forever changed. I thank God forever for giving me such a precious experience.

Sometimes I just sit in the backyard and ponder the amazing greatness of God. Take a rose for example. God has placed this rose, a beautiful living thing, before me. A rose, compared to the universe, is so infinitely small. However, God has placed it before me, and it is so beautiful, and permeates my senses. The smell, feel, the sight. How amazing that God creates such beauty in things that are so small and trivial. Then to just think about how the universe is infinately small. There are things smaller than atoms, and things smaller than quarks, and so on and so forth. Of course, completely changing direction, the universe is infinately vast and amazing. Count every single grain of sand, on every single beach of the world. Then multiply that by 10. That’s how many stars their are in the heavens…that is…70,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Actually, that’s just how many that it is possible for our best telescopes to see…there are probably more. God created all that, but yet He still knows how many hairs are upon our head. Incredible. God’s beauty is in everything. If one takes the time to look at anything in God’s creation-no matter how small or large-they will be able to find infinite beauty. Just think about that next time you sing, “Glory to God in the Highest!”

In 2004 I went through a traumatic time and fervently prayed for help as I was left only to cling on to God. I recieved this overwhelming sense of peace which was indescribable. I assumed it would go by morning but to my surprise it stayed with me for 3 weeks During and after this episode my thoughts/soul were constantly on heaven, I thanked God continously, found it easily to forgive people and started praying for them.
I believe this was the start of my conversion.

Every once in a while, ok more than once in a while, I LOVE to hear people’s stories about the moments that they were absolutely struck in AWE of God. I think that it stregthens our faith in God to hear about what He has done that just knocks us off of our feet!👍

So tell me, have you ever been truly in AWE of God Almighty?

When?

Why?

Tell us your incredible story!
I have never had a “God moment” that I immediately recognized, but I have had several that I recognized later (sometimes years later) as God’s work.

My wife often tells me she is quite awestruck by God. Her love for Him is immense to say the least:) She loves the most Holy Trinity. She has a particular devotion to the Passion, and The Holy Ghost.

I also am awestruck of God because He is magnificent! Look at the heavens, and what is in it. How can one not be in awe of God Almighty?

And as my wife says, the sacrifice our Lord made for us all. He bore the weight of the sins of the whole world, what is there not to be in awe of?

As i read the responses of others in this forum i am overwhelmed by the depth of God’s Love and the way he moves people together to be closer to Him and His Son . AWESOME!!!

Here is one example:

When I was unemployed a few years back, I used to go on nature walks in the woods. So one day, my only clean t-shirt was one that had a picture of the Holy Eucharist on it and a Bible verse dealing with the Real Presence of Jesus written on it. I knew it was going to be hot and I would get sweaty wearing the shirt, but told myself, “Why not? After all, who’s going to see me in the woods?”

It was spring warbler migration time, and warblers are incredibly special to a bird watcher like me … they are the feathered jewels of the forest, some species only staying around to be seen for a couple of days or weeks, and can be difficult to spot since they’re tiny little things that flit all over the place.

Up ahead on the trail that day, I heard warbler calls and could see lots of these small precious birds all jumping around in one particular tree. I wondered what the big attraction was, and what was so special about that tree that it drew all the birds to it?

Coming closer to the warbler-filled tree, I saw that somebody had carved a heart into the wood, with the words, “JESUS LOVES YOU.”

This is exactly why I opened up this thread… 😃 Glad you like it! I am finding it quite inspiring also…

Every…single…day. I’m in awe. From the mundane everyday…to the extraordinary…He never ceases to perform miracles in all of our lives, right?

I sometimes find myself crying…when startled by yet another IBM. (itsy bitsy miracle)🙂

Right after receiving Him in holy communion I am so moved to tears that He would come to me a sinner and love me. Also when I am in adoration, I am so thankful that He has called me to visit Him, and that He has allowed me to hear His call. In confession I am so up lifted when He has forgiven me all my sins.
