Just wanted to share something amazing happening in my life, thanks to a website designed to promote the prayer life of St Ignatius. I have read a few books about this incredible saint, who teaches us to follow God’s will…and HOW to do that through listening intently during quiet prayer.
I was reading an article in a Catholic local newspaper after mass a few weeks ago, and stumbled across one highlighting an online retreat that is changing people’s inward communication with God. The wesbite is www.creighton.edu and if you click on ‘ministry’ then, ‘online retreat,’ you will find the 37 week ‘retreat.’ I know, 37 weeks sounds daunting, but if you just make time for this (about 45 minutes daily) you will see the difference in your life. There is a section to listen to, as well as daily mass readings and reflections. Also, the professors from this university share their insights on the masses.
I’m going into my third week, and the first two weeks were painful, as they take you through the journey of your childhood, but supposedly…as time goes on, towards the end, one will discover why the retreat asks you to reflect on that.
I hope you give it a try…maybe we could use this thread, as an opportunity to discuss as we journey through the retreat?
I’ll be interested in learning what you think of it…
