Does anyone have any stories they would like to share about intercession from Saints in their lives?

I’ll start! 🙂
I don’t know if this was truly intercession or not but I believe it was.

When I was 20, I was considering becoming a Catholic (I was an Anglican) and I decided to give a prayer to a Saint a try.
I was a little uncomfortable about praying to a Saint because we did not do this as Anglicans.
I came across a prayer to Saint Lucy, I didn’t specifically choose her, I just came across a prayer to her and thought I would give it a try.

St Lucy is the Patron of Eye problems since she had her eyes gouged out before being martyred.

Later that day after saying the prayer, I noticed that my headache had gone - I had been suffering with headaches in the front of my face for about two years prior and used to get a lot of pain behind my eyes.
The pain went away that day and has never come back since (it’s been 2 years since then).
There was no explanation for the pain to just vanish as far as I’m aware.
I entered the Church soon after.
🙂

Hmm, once I was in a shoe store with my mom and the shoe store owner lost his keys to the building. I prayed to St. Anthony of Padua for the lost keys (since he’s the patron saint of lost articles) and he found them minutes later, on a place my mom said was empty before 👍

Awesome story!! Thanks for sharing. I’m pretty sure, St. Therese does a lot for me, but not sure I have an amazing story to give, I’ll get back to you!

I’m an ice nurse. Once I had a patient who was dying one of the most horrible deaths I had ever seen. And I’ve taken care of a lot of dying people. In the span of 2 hours from the time that we had admiitted him we had coded him 3 times. His 8 year old daughter was at the bedside as we were doing chest compressions saying “daddy please don’t die.” It was also bad that he had no clotting factors in his blood due to his disease. He was bleeding to death and he was a bloody mess.

Anyways during the time that we coded him for the third time I asked our blessed mother for her intercession. I prayed a hail Mary for this man and this family. And told her "I don’t know what they need right now but I know that you do. So can you please intercede for these people with your son to help them according to what you think they need? " it was nearly instantaneous the entire mood in the room changed. Instead of a chaotic and stressful atmosphere. It became calm and controlled. And for the third time we were able to get a perfusing heart rhythm. We were able to clean him up. And his family were able to sit quietly and peacefully at his bedside squeezing his hand, and telling him that they loved him. It stayed quiet and peaceful like that for another 8 hours. When we lost his heart rhythm again. And his family peacefully said “we are ready to let him go now.” And through the intercession of our blessed mother he was provided a peaceful death.

Wow!! Beautiful Story! Thanks for sharing. Blessed Mother is…words fail!

I’m an animal lover except for cats. Just wasn’t a huge fan. Until Yeti came along…he was a 4 week old orphan with extra toes on each paw, absolutely adorable lil black baby. So I took him in and bottle fed him. Over the course of three weeks of constant care I fell in love with him. I have depression issues, one particular day was pretty hard. Yeti never left my side the entire day. He was only 6 months old when he accidentally got outside. For three days I criedand searched the nneighborhood. I went door to door with pictures of him ajd turned up empty. On the fourth day I asked for help from St Francis and St Anthony. As soon as I finished praying I put on my shoes and walked right out to where Yeti’s body lay. We have this cane type garden maybe 30 feet from the house, he was laying just at the edge. No injuries I could see, just looked like he had fallen asleep.
So when I picked out my new kitten I named him Francis…Yeti softened my heart towards cats 🙂
St Anthony has turned up many things for me…I often wonder if he doesn’t just shake his head when he hears from me haha

Both of my parents were two pack a day smokers. When my mother got older she tried many times to quit but with no success. I think it was when she was in her mid sixties she petitioned a newly canonized St Maximilian Kolbe because she jokingly said he needed some work. Well she prayed for his intercession fervently one night, and the next day she woke up with absolutely no desire for the cigarette that started her day.She never smoked after that day.

I had a strange answer from St Therese, the little flower after a period of struggle with my faith. I was given a blessed Rose from a nice lady while I was praying the rosary after mass on theSaturday after the feast of St Therese.I placed the beautiful flower in water and it seemed to last longer than most roses I have ever had. After the bloom finally faded and I was getting ready to dispose of it I noticed that tiny new leaves were beginning to grow! I had a small interior voice advising me to stay with the church and not be watered with doctrines from outside her.

I was deep in debt and worried about my financial situ,
desperate for a job, any job, I kept at it and finally found
one, and it suited me and my temperament just fine!
I sat down today at my computer desk and noticed two
pictures of St. Joseph on it and realized that one
week or so before I found this job, I had dug it out of
storage intending on giving it to someone God lays
on my heart! And it hit me, St. Joseph was the provider
for the Holy family, HE GOT ME this job, Praise Jesus
Mary, and JOSEPH!

I have multiple encounters of intercession by saints:

During our engagement, my fiancé (husband now) bought up St. Pio of Pietrelcina. I got fascinated by his life knowing that he lived in our parents’ lifetime. Upon reading his life we noticed something…his birthday, is our wedding date! (We picked the date even before knowing him) We knew he will intercede for us. On our wedding day, we prayed to him for good weather (which we had, we got married in the Philippines). It was so sunny, not hot there was a cool breeze that made way for cool pictures of my veil, perfect weather for photo taking even after the ceremony on the grounds…there was another wedding after us so we had to wrap up quick but lo and behold after we got in our bridal car…it started raining! Me and my husband looked at each other and just thought…our Padre made it possible! Now it never fails, every single time we go to a Catholic store, his picture or medal shows itself to us reminding us that he is there for us to intercede.

Another story, I pray to St. Michael the Archangel quite often for protection. My older brother is back in the Philippines. My brother got into a car accident, his car toppled over, went on the other lane…no bodily injuries. I was amazed that he protected by brother too.

At one point, while we were trying to get pregnant we went to Napa valley for our anniversary. In one of the churches there they have a big statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe…knowing that she is also the patron of the unborn, I asked her to intercede and grant us a child. At another time too, I asked St. Rita’s intercession…here I am pregnant and excited for our first baby!

That was not the only time Our Lady of Guadalupe interceded for me, I asked her to help me pass my RN exam, I offered up a candle after I took the test that day…2 days after Christmas of 2009, I got my result and passed on one take.

Its amazing how saints intercede… its like the express lane at the grocery for God when we need something.

My dad and I did not get along ever since I was a teenager. In my mid 20s thing got better but then when his health started to go he got cranky and things were a little worse.

I read about St-Dymphna how her father murdered her for not wanting to marry him. So I figured she would understand not getting along with a father. I went from Canada on a trip to Belgium to see her shrine. As I got there, there were only 2 other people in the church and they were the volunteers who worked there  I always thought shrines attracted large crowds. I figured I came all this way so I stayed and prayed by a statue of her. Then as I was walking down the street I went for a massage hoping to salvage some of my ‘bad’ day. How foolish I was

I am too tired to go into details, but less than a year later, my dad died. No one likes to loose a father, but since it is something most people face, I could not have asked for better circumstance and can see how God orchestrated everything. I was able to put my dad’s favourite candy in his coffin and be the last one to kiss him goodbye. I am pleased in the end I was the last one who was there for him

Did I mention we didn’t get along??? Well that is all in the past and all I can remember is the good he did for me

Yes, St. John Paul II answered my daughter’s prayers on my behalf. In 2011, I suffered a very severe brain aneurysm where almost all of the victims die immediately and the local emergency room MD told my husband that I would die that day. My husband gave me every chance by then getting me to a top notch Boston hospital and the best neurosurgeon. The neurosurgeon was willing to help me despite the horrible odds against me. I had a coiling procedure and then my family waited for me to come out of the coma and to wait for the next problem which would be a stroke. Right away, knowing that another JPII miracle was needed for his canonization, my daughter began to pray for his intercession. Her prayers were answered because I came out of the coma and did not have a stroke. I was in the hospital for almost a month but upon returning home I rapidly regained all of my strength and had no mental or physical deficiencies which was highly unusual.

I did not realize how unique my situation was until a year later at a check up with my neurosurgeon where they told me that I was the first patient in his practice to survive such an ordeal. I immediately thought about the JPII connection and they admitted that my recovery was miraculous. My medical info was sent to the Vatican and they found it to be quite compelling but at that time that had already settled on the second miracle cure. It was the cure of a woman with a brain aneurysm! This miracle took place in Costa Rica 5 months prior to mine. God Bless St. John Paul II. I owe my life to his intercession.

Yes, from St. Jude. Both when my mother was sick and after she died. Many graces and mercies were bestowed upon both me and my family during that horrific time. There’s no way that I would have survived losing her had it not been for the help I received.
