Have you ever heard of this?

Some time ago I watched a program on The Journey Home on EWTN. The guest said that he had a devotion to the Cross. I’ve never heard of this and he didn’t explain. I’ve tried to google it with no luck and I am very curious. Have you ever heard of this?
 
I imagine he just meant that Christ’s passion and death on the cross was especially significant to him in his prayer life.

To expand on this, it would be similar to a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, or the Immaculate Heart of Mary. They are private devotions which simply help a person relate better to the Sacred Mysteries. A conscious devotion to the Cross would help a person better understand Christ’s sacrifice and the value of redemptive suffering.
