Have You Ever Met Another CAFer?

I’m just interested, has anyone ever met another member of this forum? It would be very interesting, wouldn’t it. Would you happily meet with another member if it was possible, or would you prefer to remain anonymous? I’m guessing that since most CAFers live in the US, it is possible?

I have. Which reminds me that I need to get in touch with her—it’s been a while. 😔

She hasn’t been on CAF for a long time, but we did indeed initially “meet” as a result of our posting here.

Yes, I have, and I hope we meet again soon.

I also worked with a CAF member for years who used to post a lot, but no longer does. We’re still good friends, though.

I think we should have a CAF World News Forum meet and greet, maybe in a boxing ring 😁.

Yes, I met someone on CAF years ago that lives in Ireland and she came to visit us twice.
 
I had a near-miss.

A year ago I went to a local and famous shrine and then two days later an unnamed but very active poster mentioned they went to the same shrine, but two days later. 🙂
 
Yes. Early in my membership I asked a member to add my son to her list on a thread that she regularly visited in prayer.
She ultimately emigrated from America to marry him.
They love each other with evident care and devotion

Yes, twice. Or once and a half, at least. And both with respect to the Before Time of the Old CAF.

The half time was that I had referred an internet friend (whom I had met years prior) here with a question. I think she posted once and no more.

The other was one of our diocesan deacons who had his photograph attached to his account, so I recognized him, and had occasion to introduce myself once or twice. He had been fairly active on the forum, but seems not to have returned since the forum changed from vBulletin to Discourse. (Hopefully to his benefit)
At least: Those are the only two meetings of which I am aware! 😉
 
This question is perennial here since CAF started.

Yes, I met only one to my knowledge in all these many years.
 
I have met one in person and we currently belong to the same parish. We did not know each other before we “met” at CAF. I think that person’s spouse may have visited here too.

I have had telephone conversations/become social media friends with other CAFers.
 
Never.
But then, I don’t reveal enough information to be readily identifiable.

With my luck, if I met a fellow CAF member, it would be someone whose posts are adversarial to mine in every way. They would be likable and friendly in person and I would be unable to support the dislike for their posts.

I have had a few near misses.
My visits to various churches and monasteries have also been accompanied with other posters mentioning these same locations within the same week.

Anyone go to St Peter and Paul basilica in Chattanooga TN over labor day weekend?
For the last several years I somehow find myself at the vigil Mass there on Saturday.
We may have just missed.
 
I have not personally met anyone from CAF. However, I’m pretty sure that a few of us have crossed paths 🙂
