Have you ever played an apologist on the internet?

Does saying, “I’m sorry.” when a mistake is made, count?

Just to clarify, ‘apologetics’ is not the art of apologizing for being Catholic. 🙂

Nope. How do you do that? Why would you do that? Are you all that knowledgeable, spiritual and inspired that you can pull it off?

No problem. 🙂

Let me put it another way, Have you ever given a ‘defense for the hope that is within you’ on the internet?

I can say that I have met many persons online, and in person, who did not understand their own theology, religion, beliefs, or belief-systems, but were ‘born and raised’ in a family of this or that, and never really bothered to consider what they believe, whether it was true, logical, accurate, sustainable from holy scripture, historically, moral, or how their theology, etc, affected their understanding of God’s own character, in whether it corroborated God as love, or something else.

Yes, I have shared online, the reason “for the hope that is within” me.

How about you ‘tad’?

Have you shared your faith with others online, and if so, what ‘denom.’, or ‘religion’ were they?

I used to spend a lot of time on an inter-denominational forum. The persons I engaged with were mostly those who had issues with the Catholic Church, usually Calvinist’s and those who had no affiliation with a concrete faith community.

What kind of “issues”? Theological (ie. soteriological, ecclesiastical &c), practical, historical, prophetical, sacerdotal, magisterial, &c?

I’m loggin’ off for now, tad. Maybe see ya 'round later. I’ll check back then to see if anything further was written. 😁

I play one here all the time. 🙂

Years and years ago, I stumbled across and joined a tiny forum of KJV-only people. Some of them had theological ideas that were so fringe that they actually exempted themselves from going to church on Sundays because there simply was no church they could find in real life that correctly taught Christian teaching.

It didn’t go super well. 😝

I was always polite, and most of them were, too. My main goal wasn’t to try to convert them to Catholicism but just to get them to see that Catholics can actually be Christians. I’m not sure that I succeeded with that, though.

Enjoy it while it lasts, because I’m not sticking around too long. Should start charging money for my appearances.
