Have you ever seen a ghost?

I think that if you take up the Scriptures and a Biblical concordance, you can find some interesting material on this subject.

Back in the 80’s, I was hiking on the sight of an abandoned farmhouse with some friends in Tennessee. I saw something glass just sticking up from the ground. I unearthed three crystal perfume bottles. I took them home. The next night, I found myself being terrorized in a dream by a young woman in a Victorian style dress. She kept asking me for her things back. Each time she asked, her appearance became more grotesque until she appeared to be a corpse. In the dream, I ran from the house where she was and across a field. I saw a well in the clearing and stopped running and walked up to it. I looked into the dark water that was almost to the top. At that moment, hands came up form the water and pulled me in. I found myself underwater surrounded by hideous beings saying “Come live with us forever…” Then, I was awakened by the sound of breaking glass in my bedroom. One of the bottles had been thrown across the room and broke the glass of a picture handing above my desk. I was drenched in a cold sweat. Glass was everywhere.

Those were quite possibly used in Witchcraft. Also, satanists usually assign a demon to guard their meeting area. I’m very cautious about bringing unknown items into my house. Excellent story!

I still have the two remaining bottles. I keep holy water in them. Looks like the Old Colonel wins again! Hoorah!

If you couldn’t move, it’s much more likely than not sleep paralysis. If you could move and you still saw it all, then I have no idea.
I couldn’t move on one occasion but I could the other times. I believe in ghosts and demons. I think most religious people do.

Several weeks after the final incident, my parents were outside and heard someone calling my mothers name. Nobody was around and no one could be found. It was still prowling.

Not knowing anything about the events that transpired, when I was young I regularly had dreams of an entity lurking in or around the house. Still, no evidence of how it entered our house has been found. With the house now religiously fortified it cannot return. ✝️

As I see it, we only need to look to the natural order of God’s creation to gain some possible insight into the supernatural order. Life in the natural realm is fierce. There are benign creatures and malevolent creatures abounding in creation. Animals must prey on other animals to survive. A state of warfare exists between certain species. Competition and extinction are the norms. Why would we doubt, then, to find such diversity of good and evil in the supernatural realm? I believe the Holy Church has been wise across the centuries to warn of the dangers of dabbling in the occult. But like you, I agree that most events can be explained by science. The Church is also wise to exercise skepticism in such matters.

You have an interesting way of looking at this, Colonel. It makes perfect sense that the natural world would reveal something about the supernatural world. Just like the relationship between man and woman reveals something about God.
The Church is also wise to exercise skepticism in such matters.
I agree with this when it comes to extraordinary activity. However, some people are too sceptical. No evidence is sufficient for them to believe.
