Have you heard the rap song "Jesus walks"?

I’ve been hearing this rap song on the radio station I listen to in the morning and I finally looked it up on the internet today. It’s called by “Jesus walks” by Kayne West. The song struck me because something about the background reminded me of chant. I just watched the video and it’s very powerful. It has angels!

Note: I looked up the lyrics to the song and like most rap songs there’s some four-letter words, but the video is clean. It’s called the “Church version”

I wish I was more familiar with rap. Sometimes I hear some really innovative stuff on the radio. There was a rap song a couple of years ago that intergrated pachelbel’s canon into the chorus, but I have no idea who it was by.

Yes, that song is very good. I’m not a fan of rap at all but i do like that song. However, I do know who’s who and what’s what, since I like to listen to all music to gain the knowledge (being an aspiring musician myself!!)

I think the song you are refering to (correct me if I am wrong) is “I know I can” by Nas. This song doesn’t have Pachebel’s Canon, but Beethoven’s Fur Elise.

Yes, I love the Nas song and I didn’t know the name of it so thank you for telling me. Now I’ll have to look for both Fur Elise and the Nas song.

But there is another song with Pachelbel’s Canon. The Canon in D Major is one of my favorite pieces of music so I’d never mistake it for something else I believe the song that features it was done by a girl group and it’s possible it was more than a few years ago since my sense of time is weird.
