I purchased the DVD “A Distant Thunder” a Jonathan Flora film. It delivered everything it promised. This is an excellent production about a “pro-choice” prosecutor who is offered a murder case involving partial birth abortion.
Just type A Distant Thunder into their search engine and the title will come up. A little movie like this can do more to change hearts and encourage people to think about this issue- partial birth abortion- than the best articulated arguments. The producers took a financial and professional risk here and pro-lifers are missing a great opportunity to support artists who have used their talent to promote a culture of life. If we want to start taking back the high ground in the culture wars we need to demonstrate our eagerness to morally and financially support artists who share our values.
With a lifelong career in the fine arts I know that the work isn’t over until the public has responded. Otherwise, it is like pitching a perfect ball into a field: unless someone is there at the other end to catch it the effort is lost.
