I voted today. About a 40 minute wait. I really hope, no matter who wins, this is a sign of massive voter turnout. Partly because it’s something we should see in every election and partly because who ever wins will need a clear mandate.
I had a heck of a time voting. I live outside America and faxed in our vote, which they didn’t receive and they let me know by email that the submission failed. (That had cost $10.) Then I resorted to electronic voting…to make a long story short, I ended up trying to download ballots and other paperwork which kept failing, having a few printing errors, taking numerous pictures of our ballots and other paperwork, and then emailing my husband’s and my vote around 20 separate times before all was OK.
I voted by mail when my ballot arrived, second week of October. I also got a notification that the registrar recieved it. My son voted today though. He likes to vote in person, whereas I always vote by mail.
I voted by mail because of Covid. I look forward to next spring’s city election, where (hopefully) I can return to voting in person, if for no other reason than to thank the poll workers for their service.–
