Yep- that’s me the temporary stay at home dad! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have a primary interest in providing individual and group psychotherapy.

Insurance will pay for psychotherapy provided by LCSW’s, Psychologists, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Practicing Counselors, Licensed Addiction Counselors, or Masters level clinicians supervised under said licensed providers. Psychiatrists can also - but they really just do meds. nowadays- or see rich folks in big cities for classic Psychoanalysis- where you lay on the couch.

So any of these clinicians providing psychotherapy can be called a Therapist, or Clinician, so for brevity I call myself a “Therapist” 🙂

I am enjoying being at home with Lorien (DD) but I am eager to get “back out there.” 🙂

P.S. I know what you are saying about FL- when I was a kid I didn’t really think folks came “from” FL!

home is where the heart is 🙂 your heart is with your husband. maybe fix not seeing him. see what happens then?

*dixieagle…do you like alabama? I meant to ask you that. *
There are good points and bad points. We’re about 90 minutes from the Gulf, the cost of living is low, we have some good friends and a longtime parish family, and the winters are mild. Our girls got a good Catholic education, which was important to us, and there is access to excellent medical care. We’re within an 8 hour drive of Disney World (we are all still Disney World nuts) and a couple hours from New Orleans, which is quite an interesting place.

There are also plenty of narrow-minded people, some anti-Catholicism (not as bad here in the coastal area, as there are plenty of us), the heat and humidity can be miserable for 5+ months, there’s not much change of season, there are no major league sports, and it’s 1500 miles from Massachusetts.

But, it’s been home for 25 years now.

Hi WG,

How are you feeling today? Hope things are a little better. I have out of town meetings today so will not be online. But just wanted to wish you a good day.😃

*Oh, thanks GD. I have the day off today, SO I didn’t have to sit in traffic…ha A better day, indeed largely because of that. Hubby is getting ready for work…and we talked about everything. He said that I should be careful to not lump what has happpened IN Florida, WITH Florida. For example, it’s tougher now in sales. Well, if we stayed in Pgh, it still would have been tough, the recession affected all of the U.S. He said, the change of seasons, etc…yes, that is Florida, but some of my issues with Florida, have nothing to do with Florida. He’s such a smart man! :o

That said, he is sending some resumes out this week, to test the waters, because Disney’s hectic schedules will never change…it’s the nature of the hospitality business. So, we shall see! Thank you for your prayers, they are working already. *

*I think you are right. If we were going to consider moving back up north, it wouldn’t be until next summer…so, in the meantime, hubby is going to send his resumes out this week to test the waters. He actually has his resume posted on monster, and got some interesting leads in his email this morning…so we’ll see. I think you could be right, that in a large way, not having quality time as a family, is getting to me. 😦 Thank you for your note here. *

If it makes you feel any better; it’s been drizzling here in Pittsburgh for the last few days, and our fair city is about to be shut down for a week because of the G-20. At 1:00 there’s a scheduled protest march outside my building on Grant Street that’s going to lock up traffic until 4:00.

And I have no way to get to work on Thursday and Friday because the buses won’t be running past Oakland.

And Polomolou’s going to be out for another couple of weeks and we just lost to the Bears!

And we have the worst team in baseball.

Trust me – you don’t want to be in the 'Burgh at the moment!

*A fellow Pittsburghian…hello! :hug1: lol Yes, I was talking to my MIL yesterday and she commented on the protests etc…are they camping out at the point? That sounds crazy! I don’t think my company closed their offices, we have offices in Gateway II which is in the middle of it all, as well…across from the Hilton. Some of my friends are angry about that. I have a Pirates shirt that we bought when we visited Pgh in July this year…my dh is like…why are you wearing THAT? They stink! ha I said, someone has to cheer for the Pirates. 😃 I think if you have lived in Pittsburgh for a long enough time, it just gets under your skin…and you will always have a special place in your heart for it. :o

Do you ever have lunch at Jimmy John’s? I loved that place…that was always a lunch staple. *

Whatever girl I am so sorry to hear about your day, hopefully soon you will be feeling better… I know that things are difficult but look at things in the positive note…For example…I moved from dry California to tropical Miami, fl…MAN I could never get used to those horrible thunder storms, it was insane!! Always flooding, and always raining!!! ALWAYS! I started to think about how much we don’t get warm water in california when it rains even during winter miami rain is acceptable you don’t freeze like you do in california…That was a positive…I would run outside with the kids right after thunder stopped and we’d get soaked, lol, play around till we couldn’t take so much water and fun any more! LOL Made us, including myself, enjoy florida a little more!

Then the thunder, I taught the kids to relax themselves, read, take a nap or hide under the covers while it was thundering…

I too had different schedule from then husband now exhusband…I worked nights he worked days… AND it was frustrating like crazy! Never saw each other except for after I got home for about 30 mins while we kissed good night… lol…

BUT during the weekends I tried to make things as great as possible, he on the contrary would want to be with his friends, other family, etc, whatever, so I started attaching myself to my munchkins and made the best of things and I don’t hate Florida, I love it… I enjoy my children more… And that’s all that matters…

As for you try to spend as much adult time together during the weekends, you know? Like leave the kids with a babysitter for about 5 hours or so, so that you and hubby can catch up…If no babysitter then try to have the kids go to bed early on Sunday so that you and hubby can share that extra time…YES I know that’s so little and all but remember it’s not about quantity but quality…And the more quality there is the quantity won’t matter because you will both carry each other’s quality time together all the time…

God bless…

**Sharon, sorry about your gloomy days, I hope it has picked up since then. Maybe you might feel better if and when you come to Chicago, you can have a little faith lift. I heard Tampa news that hit national yesterday, cops playing wii on a bust, have to say, I busted out laughing. Figures.
**

** In any case, here is a prayer for you to feel better:
**

Prayer for Peace of Heart
Code:
                           	Almighty and Eternal God,
Give me, I beseech You,
the great gift of inward peace.
Command the winds and storms
of my unruly passions.
Subdue, by Your grace,
my proneness to love
created things too much.
Give me a love of suffering for Your sake.
make me forbearing and kind to others,
that I may avoid quarrels and contentions.
And teach me constantly to seek after
and to acquire that perfect resignation
to Your Holy Will
which alone brings interior peace.

Amen.
