Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This year’s Annual Legion of Mary “Acies” Mass was on St. Patrick’s Day - Mar. 17, and it seemed “appropriate” considering that Mary’s Legion began in Dublin, Ireland and then spread to almost every country in the world. St. Patrick the great Apostle of Ireland sent out missionaries all over the world too. The pastor of Corpus Christi Church where the Acies was celebrated, in his homily after the Gospel of Luke, dwelt on Mary’s “Yes” in the Annunciation, then St. Patrick’s “yes” and finally our own “yes” to God.
Our own little Preasidium “Queen of Peace” had several members unable to join us this year due to illness, family needs, and other trials God permitted, but 7 of us were able to take the long bus ride (about 3 hours) for the 10 am Mass with meal and fellowship following.
If you have never experienced an Acies Mass I hope you will experience one here on earth. The Latin word “Acies” means “Army in Battle Array” and in our day we truly are called to battle the evil forces fighting against God in this world. The evil one hates Mary and Her Son, and he knows his time is short as he makes war against Mary’s children, but we know in the end, Her Immaculate Heart will triumph because of God’s Love.
