First I would like to apologize just in case this is in the wrong category. I am somewhat new to the questions feature on this website. But now the question. I have already gotten two miraculous medals blessed in the past. But I feel like it was at an inconvenient time for my parish priest. Now I am hoping to get a couple of the candles in my house blessed. I have thought about taking them through the communion line. But I do not want to slow the flow of the line and inconvenience the people behind me. To those who know the proper times to get things blessed. What are your thoughts?

I would strongly recommend that you not take things through the communion line to be blessed. That will definitely be an inconvenience to the parish priest and everyone else in line. The communion line is for communion, not for blessing sacramentals.

You say “I feel like it was an inconvenient time for my parish priest.” You feel this, but do you really know that it was? Did he say that it was? He blessed your medals, and it really doesn’t take any time at all to do that. Just ask him after Mass, I’m sure it’s okay. It’s really better not to act on what we feel and how we project those feelings onto others, so much as what we know to be true.

Hi Father I would like my house blessed but we have so few priests and they are so stretched I feel like I don’t want to ask them over to do it. Any advice ?

Call the office and schedule an appointment. Easy peasey (may be after Lent before they have time).
