Does your heart ever beat loud or fast at Eucharistic Adoration or during prayer? Just wondering if anyone else experiences this.

I don’t really notice if my heartbeat changes, however when I pray I get this rush of energy that makes me more alert. It’s very weird to explain, though.

Yes, it happened to me twice during private prayer at home. I was praying to Our Mother and my heart just started beating really fast and I was overcome by this feeling of great love which I had never felt before. I really thought I was about to experience an apparition - sadly, this was not the case. Anyway, I’m already blessed to have experienced these episodes.

I think sometimes God gives us these ‘feelings’ to let us know that He is always close to us.

Do you experience this often? Can you describe what you go through? I’m curious 🙂

A lot of times when I pray the rosary, or any other contemplative prayer, my body goes limp almost and all that seems to move are my fingers on the rosary beads. Very calming sense of peace. I don’t know if it means anything but that is what i feel physically feel.

My heart rate just speeds up, nothing really fast. But its just beating hard enough for it to be noticeable. Yeah its kind of often. And I only notice it cuz it happens during adoration or thinking about Jesus or just normal prayer. I don’t get any rush of feelings of love or anything, just a loud heart beat. I thought it might mean something because the heart is the dwelling place of Jesus, or so I read in the diary of St. Faustina.

What you went through though sounds awesome.

Omigosh I wish I had that. Praying makes me yawn if I’m not focused. Not that I find it boring, just ya know.

Haha, don’t worry, I understand! I’ve fallen asleep whilst praying once, and then I woke up kind of yelling at myself for falling asleep. :o:D

I thought about how I could describe it this evening, and the only thing I can think of that makes sense is that the rush of energy makes me more alert (as said above), and it makes me want to pray even more. I enjoy praying, and it’s something that I strive to do daily, and I always think it’s God’s way of saying, “You know, you can always pray for a few more minutes. I don’t mind.”
