It seems every day for the last couple of weeks my heart has been ill at ease, as though an elusive pain has been piercing into my spirit and engaging my will. I don’t know why this has started, but it has been rather painful (not physically, and yet perceptibly). I would appreciate your prayers and if anyone has insight into what I’m experiencing that would be great.

In all honesty, you ought to go to the Dr. and have yourself checked out instead of thinking this is just some “spiritual pain”

I’m with robwar: I think it’s a good idea to check in with your primary care provider to rule out an actual physical issue.

In the meantime, I am praying for your intentions.

Likewise, I am praying for your health and wholeness and wisdom.

Let us suppose that I have very recently had a physical and no lifestyle changes. While I am thankful there is prudence to rule out natural causes, it really does not seem this is the case. I should also clarify this difficulty seems to arise when my thoughts turn to internal reflection or to contemplative prayer.

Again, I would discuss your symptoms with a Dr, even if you recently have had a physical. Likewise, i would discuss this with a priest. But anytime anyone having a pain in the chest, should be looked at by a Dr.
