"Heaven" by Alcorn

Is anyone familiar with this book. I know it is written from a protestant viewpoint, but does anyone know if there is anything inconsistent with Catholic teaching in it?

It is okay. There are some big Catholic doctrines that are missing such as purgatory and prayer to saints. If you go into the book knowing that the writer is protestant, there’s no problem. Just remember the grain of salt.

An easier treatment of heaven can be found in “Travel Guide to Heaven” which was written by a Catholic. Very easy read and fun speculation.

A Catholic Apologist, Peter Kreeft, wrote “Everything you ever wanted to know about heaven but never dreamed of asking”.

One priest described some of the information in these books as “theological speculation” because we only know so much about heaven. Still, it really makes you think about it and get excited about it.
