I was watching it for a few minutes–can’t watch it any longer than that, it was literally turning my stomach. I mean, seriously?? The guy who was on it this morning was all “if you can’t put hamburger in your Helper then you need to sow a love seed to INCREASE your ability to live like God wants you to!” or some drevil to that effect. So the TBN pimps (sorry, that’s what they’re doing) are taking any scripture with the number “7” in it and telling people that God has given them anointings to bless people, who sow their “love seed” of $700 or more, with healings, wealth and all manner of promise.

A few days ago Jesse Duplantis (?) was on saying that he “brings people to Jesus through Jesse, because if they ain’t liking Jesse they ain’t gonna like Jesus!”. That time they were using some other scripture’s chapter and verse and perverting it to be the amount people should “sow”.

I know I shouldn’t be dumbfounded, but I am. How can a reasonable person accept stuff like that?? The only thing I could do was make the Sign of the Cross and begin praying Our Fathers, Hail Marys and Glorias.

This stuff just makes me sick, literally sick to my stomach and sick at heart. Rant over, sorry. 😦

How much do we have to collect to make them go away? If we sent them a huge pledge with a condition that they have a orthodox Catholic on every show refuting any heresy, do you think they will cash the check?

What is TBN and why would anyone who despises it watch it?

TBN’s annual “PRAISE A THON” (which is going on this week) is well known for the excessive spiritual claims made by it’s guest preachers. For some reason, they all have a bug in their ears about this being the year 2007, and the 7 is supposed to be a guarantee that God is going increase everyone’s harvest as long as they sow seed (( in the form of large pledges to TBN )).

First of all, TBN is not doing the Lord’s work.
Partial gospel truth mixed with much fantasy and error is what
TBN is broadcasting to the world. So tithing or making “offerings” to TBN is NOT the same as making an offering to the work of the Lord. You would do a much better job of offering to the work of the Lord by making a financial pledge
to CATHOLIC ANSWERS and to CATHOLICS UNITED FOR THE FAITH, as well as financial donations for the poor through
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES. And donations to EWTN catholic cable network wouldn’t hurt, either.
