Heaven Is For Real is on and I’ve never seen it. So I’ll let you know what I think.

I read the book and thought that the movie did not translate the story very well on the big screen. Unless the father/mother did a great con in retelling the boy’s experience or that the account of his experience was actually a:thumbsup: gift that God blessed the family with

I could not really fathom what an experience like that would have in me!

I enjoyed both the book and the film. It’s impossible to know 100% if the story is really true or not, but I’m inclined to believe it.

I saw the movie in the theater on Easter I cried through the whole thing… I absolutely believe the story and I found it refreshing and validating to know our loved ones are still with us…even in heaven.

Yes Heaven is for real. Just not Mr. Burpo’s story.

In another thread a poster had posted the verse from 1 Corinthians 2:9 to disprove such a story.

"But as it is written “What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and what has not entered the human heart what God has prepared for those who love him.”

Thus these are not real “peeks into heaven.”
Interesting thought but I am not an exegesis expert.

I have not yet read the book.

IMNAAHO, the film delved too much into the family’s financial issues, which triggers a nagging doubt as to the truthfulness of the account.

Now that I’ve seen it: I liked it. Not great, but good, and with it’s moments. The miscarried girl, for instance.

I guess I believe it, but I’m a total believer anyway, so I’m an easy sale.

I have the same reaction to both “Heaven is for Real” and “God is Not Dead” (both books and movies):

DUH!!!
