The most convincing argument of all is found in two different places in scripture…
1 Thess 4:13 Brothers,we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep,or to grieve like the rest of men,who have no hope.(14) We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
If we are dead in the ground,Body and Spirit and we are soul-sleeping
then how could it be that we come back with Jesus?Because we are not in that ground,only are earthly body is.The reason we come back and the graves pop open is my friend, when we receive our glorified body.Right now all that are in Paradise is only the spirit of man.one day we will get a never grow old body and a never die body but a perfect body without blemish.
The second most convincing scripture about the spirits in Paradise can be found in Revelation 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal,I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
Some say"well this scripture is the ones who were killed(Like Stephen) and yes they were but this scripture is pointing out that the spirit of man is not soul-sleeping and this scripture puts these souls in Paradise which is located in the third heaven which is below the throne of God
