So after a hectic and pretty stressful day we both collapse in bed last night. As we’re holding hands just letting our bodies rest for min, I say to her, “come over here and let’s be as close as a husband and wife can be”.

DW, is like “WHAT? I don’t have the emotional or physical strength to give to anyone else".

I said, “yes you do, just put your head on my shoulder”.

So she lays her head down and I say… “The first Glorious Mystery… The Resurrection…Jesus rises from the dead according to the Scripture”.

She, pops her head up and says “What are you doing? I said, we are being as close as a married couple can be by praying the Rosary, thanking God for all our blessings and asking for His protection and grace for our family.” “Just like it says in Corinthians Ch7.”

She punches me on the chest and says, “ You think you are so smart and holy, don’t you?” I said, well I’m trying”🤷

I think she fell asleep somewhere during the Third Mystery, I completed the Rosary giving thanks to our Lord and asking the Blessed Mother to guide and protect all my girls(DW included).

Those women, have such a one track mind don’t they?😛 Haha. Have a good day everyone.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

(I hope DH and I can get to that point someday. He’s not Catholic, though he’s started attending Mass with DD and I, so I’m hopeful and trust in Jesus.)

Brenda V.;do you think if BamaRider tried this he might get off the hook emptying the dishwasher? it’s worth a try, Bama

What a wonderful way to end the day GratefulDad!

Bama, In your predicament, it might not hurt to try this out.

Thank you… Brenda.

This makes me wish that nice Catholic girls under 30 still exist.
Don’t give up Laro, they’re still out there.

Proverbs, Chapter 31
10
When one finds a worthy wife, her value is far beyond pearls.

Her husband, entrusting his heart to her, has an unfailing prize.

Also, like just about everyone here will tell you, it has taken us years and a lot of ups and downs, to get to this point.😉

Belle, like I said above, this did not just happen, nor was I, always an awakened Catholic, never missed Mass or anything very far from the Church for us. But being really awakened is a whole level or two above were I was.

I guess the Holy Spirit comes to families in different ways. I have been saying the Rosery almost daily for about a year now, asking the Blessed Mother to awaken my DW and literally in the last week or two she has said she wanted to start a devotion. I could hardly believe my eyes when she brought me a copy of the “15 Promises of the Rosary” to maybe do that devotion. She hasn’t started yet but and I always new Our Lady would answer my prayers, but to see it actually unfold is amazing.🙂 So keep praying for your hubby, God the Father hears all His children’s prayers.

You know, it’s only since I started praying the Rosary daily (well, at least during the week :o) and praying the chaplet of Divine Mercy daily that DH has started attending Mass with us (it wasn’t immediate, but was definitely faster than I would’ve figured!!). As you said, it certainly is amazing to see our prayers be answered!

Thanks for the encouragement and for sharing – there is always someone who needs to hear good news, especially when it comes to a spouse or family member turning (or returning) to God. 😃

(I’ve also prayed for St. Monica’s intercession – she’s a great example of faithfulness in difficulty.)

Just when I get to thinking I’m fine with being single at this point in my life . . . along comes a beautiful true story like this . . . and I start wondering again . . . what plan does God have for me?

What a beautiful thing to have done! 😃
