What am I permitted and not permitted to do before going through the RCIA?

I’m pretty sure that I’m not allowed to partake of the sacraments until I finish the process, but is that the only restriction?

Thanks.

In my research, yes, I think those of us (myself inclueded) cannot participate in the Holy Communion until we’re Confirmed. There may be more, but I can’t recall anything at the moment.

Hope this helps. 👍

Generally any sacrament and even then maybe the sacrament if there are specific conditions.

What else would you want to do?

I went through RCIA in 1994 and still learning so much every day.

Again, yes, you have to wait for your initiation into the Church to be complete before you can receive the Sacraments. But you can go to Mass and participate in any other Church activities (unless otherwise specified); you can even blog on Catholic Answers! 😛 But I really just wanted to welcome two future members of Christ’s Kingdom on earth. :extrahappy: May the Church help you grow in faith; may you help to strengthen the Body of Christ; and may you receive all of God’s gifts that He wants to give His obedient children through His Church. God bless!

You can:
Join any study at the church.
Talk to the priest and schedule a meeting with him.
Go through Christ Renews His Parish if that is available.
Help out at church.
Attend all of the social activities.
Attend mass.
Sing in the choir.

I dated for 2 years and was married for 7 before going through RCIA. When you make it through RCIA there are so many more things you can do and please take advantage of that privilege.

The only other thing I can think of is participating in liturgical ministries – altar server, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, lector.
